The international Jury reported that the facts found were: The incident happened around 45 second to the start KORA 5 (on stbd) was on the layline to the committee boat travelling at around 10 knots She was overlapped to windward by Illusion (on stbd) and had other vessels overlapped and alongside close to leeward Illusion had no room to start and suddenly tried to bear away to take the stern of Kora This action was not successful and a collision occurred just seconds later. The jury found that Kora could not avoid the collision.
