When I was a kid I used to love to read thru my brother's Direct Connection catalog and oggle the kit car.
He was a bodyman for the local Chrysler Dodge dealer and one day a repo'd 1 year old '78 with a Road Runner package came in with a grenaded 318 and he bought it pennies on dollar. Stuffed a warmed 360 with a custom dual exhaust in it. Other than a flat black, bolt on Six Pack hoodscoop (made functional) it looked like the Volare grocery getter with an appearance package. Real sleeper because everybody that pulled up to the stoplight with him were expecting a 318 Lean Burn out of the hole.
