TL;DR:  Has anyone gotten prescription medications through an online Canadian pharmacy with good results?  If so, link please.

To make a long story short, my wife was a teacher but is now staying at home with our children.  I signed up for the HSA plan at work because it was the most economical option at the time.  Before I did that, we looked at our options and spoke with HR at the school to make sure we could keep her coverage through the year.  When her coverage expired and the COBRA was going to kick in, it was 3 times what they told us to expect, so we had to add the whole family to my HSA.  We are planning to switch to the PPO plan when we update our insurance at work, but that isn't until January.

My wife has a chronic condition that she takes medicine for and she is expecting our 4th child in December.  We went to pick up her prescription the other day and it was going to be over 900 for a month through the insurance.  Cash price was still ~750...that $150 mark up that insurance gives to not pay for it sure points to some of the issues with our health insurance system, but that's a hole I won't go down here.  I turned to the good old google and I have come up with a few options that are 100-150 for a month supply...much more affordable.

Our other option is to just get it through insurance and hit our deductible quickly, but honestly, we can't really afford that.  I'm trying to jump on some overtime at work, but there is only so much I can do at this moment.

Thanks!

Might try calling a Costco or Sams club. You usually do not need a memberhsip for the prescription drugs, and they're usually cheaper. But not always, of course.

I don't know if I have the info anymore, but my urologist was determined to have me take Cialis after my prostatectomy so I wouldn't suffer from ED (even though I told him things were going OK).  He gave me a flyer for a Canadian pharmacy and said to order it through them as it was a lot cheaper.  He even gave me the script to send.  I figured if the doc promoted it, it was legit.  I'll check when I get home.

In reply to jmabarone :yes, in the state of Minnesota a lot of people got prescription drugs because we actively encouraged it by state officials and others

I can get you who we went through tonight if you need it.

That would be great.  My wife's friend is a pharmacist at the Walmart here, but we left that pharmacy because they stopped carrying the medication she takes.  We're going to talk to her about this too.
