Is there a good website that lists auto museums by state? I seem to remember running across one somewhere, but I wasn't able to "bookmark" it at the time. I do a fair amount of driving EAST of the Mississsippi River, and would like to get times and locations for any and all musuems I may be driving past. For example, I didn't know until a few months ago, I pass close to the Lane Museum in Nashville. Unfortunately, my last 2 trips were on days it was closed (mondays and tuesday).
There are some good ones in Michigan including the RE Olds in Lansing and the Ford museums in Dearborn.
By far my favorite truck museums are the ones with the GM Ford and Dodge branding on almost every corner here in Michigan. All those nice museam quality trucks out in a row at every one of them, I guess they call them Dealerships or something? Neat idea.

You'll want to spend a day in Auburn, Indiana. Both the ACD museum and the truck (NATMUS?) museum.
In Connecticut, check out the Golden Age of Trucking Museum and the New England (formerly Bradley) Air Museum (slightly off topic).

I think everyone missed what was requested. Here's a link for a collection of antique and classic car museums:
Antique & Classic Car Museums
I just googled auto museums.
Yeah, if you are even remotely near the Lane, you need to go in. Best car museum ever.
Cleveland Ohio?
Crawford Auto Aviation museum ( attached now to the New Western Reserve Historical)
When I was a pup, it was in an old car dealership on Kinsman Ave. They would rotate the cars/planes regularly.
Now it's huge with open restoration exhibits.
A Must see for Any GRM guy
