Wow....that is so cheap....just the land here would be about $500K......
Looked at a map, 45 minutes from me. Definitely middle of nowhere. 10-15 minutes to Cortland, 20-30 to Ithaca. I would think at least an hour to the Glen, cutting right through Ithaca, not a fun time towing. I would say the price is fair for the buildings involved. Depending on the rest of the property, you might be able to run a "back 40" field track.

Not cheap enough. I showed the link to a friend who's from the area. In his opinion, you could build something similar for less and possibly closer to the Glen if that was a factor. Land in Bumble-Frack, NY is pretty cheap.
Granted, were I to actually buy something like this, I'd investigate other things: state income taxes, real estate taxes, etc. If what I remember about those are correct, I'd probably buy a similar property on the upper boarder of PA. Or do what the seller is doing and move to one of the Southern states...

THIS
28 acres? Sorry, but no dream property of mine is going to require that amount of maintenance. No thank you. My 1/2 acre plot and small house suck up WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY to much of my time already.

Who says you have to mow/maintain all of it? I'd let most of it grow wild, just maintain the grass near the house.
You guys dream waaaay too small. If I'm buying a property like that, I'm also hiring a landscaper to mow the grass... I wouldn't even own a lawnmower...
Amateurs...

Not any more. With all the shale gas, and chance of frack opening up in NY, prices have been driven up. Typically, you won't find much land below $10k an acre unless you are buying big, 100+ acre plots.
Being NY, I would hate to see the taxes and utility costs of the property. +1 on doing the same but across the border in Northern PA, Just as scenic, way cheaper operating costs, but going in town is still bumble berkeley.
