I'm gonna go with a canoe for a light. Perhaps a glow in the dark canoe....

I'm not calling Canoe just yet, maybe needs more posts to refine his style; learn how to ask so he gets GRM's and not PUNK'd.

If you want to go JY diving, the best OEM interior light I have ever used was in a 1995 2nd-gen Taurus. OK ceiling light, but SUPERB attached fresnel-lens mini-spots (left & right), individually switched, that put bright light exactly where you wanted it to read maps or whatever.

Griots LED work light is the best cordless light I've used. I use one daily under commercial garage conditions. The last one went for 1.5 years before I crushed it with the lift and even then it didn't die until two weeks after I dropped it into a catch pan of antifreeze.

At $40 it's a bargain.

I don't know what you're looking for, but I have one that plugs in to charge and then you can use it for about five hours. It looks like the Griot one above, bends in the middle and has a mag base at the bottom. It's very user friendly!

I had one of these pieces of crap from Sears. The plastic tube surrounding the LED lights is about cellophane thin and cracks to pieces in cold weather. I guess if you need something to toss in the trunk and forget until a break down, this is it. Runs off 110 or cigarette lighter

$20.

When I worked at a Lincoln Mercury Merkur Jeep Eagle Renault Nissan dealer in the late 80's there was a light that plugged into a lighter socket that was on a 10-12 inch stem that stayed where you pointed it. This light came out of a trade in. The guys in the service dept kept it, we called it the rolling light.

I believe you can still get those. I think it's a Hella map light.

That is the light we had. However, we never used it to read a map.
