Central FL: Grassroots Paddlesports?

Hey Guys,

Aussiemg, Derick Freese and I are meeting up at Blue Springs to paddle kayaks on MLK day. Anybody else is free to join us. You can bring your own kayak, rent one on site, or I can even bring another boat with me.

The plan is to meet at noon the boat rental/launch site. You can bring a boat or rent one on site. You will want to park in the SOUTH parking lot (the second one) if you are bringing your own boat. (Less distance to carry your stuff.) Derick and I are bringing our own boats. I can bring at least one more if someone else wants to come.....I might be able to bring even more if given enough advanced notice.

Wow, that's a beautiful place! I've only been kayaking a handful of times but I'd like to get further into the sport. I've only been around the Tampa/Ft. DeSoto area.

there are grassroots watersports. Check this monster out in Florida. I intend on participating in a year or two

I'm going to try to do some kayak fishing down in the Miami/Keys area with my brother. We've been planning this trip for 15 years- this looks like the year it might finally happen.

BTW, I just added elastic chords to the bow of the boat. They look pretty good. Photos later.

This Saturday Canoe Escape is doing one of their night paddles on the Hillsborough River. I can't make this one but would totally be up for one in the future.
