Saw the reunion tour in 2008, awesome show with DiMeola really shining. Too bad the Chick was so tied up with Scientology... I think he actually lost Madhatter Studios to the cult.
I guess he just couldn't live in a world without Larry Flynt.
His composition Spain is outstanding, one of the best tunes our sax quartet ever played. Not our recording, but google youtube spain saxophone quartet and you will get several groups playing the same arrangement. And there are lots of versions of Chick playing it with various other players, all great.
Don't know how I stumbled across this thread, didn't realize it was 2 years old. Mea culpa. Still a great loss.
