Left ulnar nerve release. My pinky and ring finger went numb two years ago, all tingly like I'd been sitting on them. Turns out there's a nerve that runs from my neck down to there that was getting pinched in my elbow (possibly because it's inflamed from my neck injury). Where the nerve goes through the cubital tunnel, there's 3 tendons that go perpendicular (like zippy-ties). If you clip one or more of those, it gives the nerve more room. Doc did a little outpatient slice-and-dice and within 12 hours the symptoms were totally gone! He said I had actually worn a groove in the nerve! I had it done on Thursday, was in a bandage and sling until yesterday afternoon. I'll either be attempting to drive stick to work in a few minutes, or dealing with the Javelin in the rain.

Ohhh, did he let you at least see it?

That story isn't going to impress any chicks.
In reply to DrBoost:
No! I did, apparently, try to wake up the whole time. They went from a mild sedation to a full-tilt general anesthesia.
In reply to Rob_Mopar:
Tell me about it, I need a much better story, like saving a Bengal tiger from a well, or throwing out my elbow arm-wrestling an Amazonian tribal chief.

Looks familiar. I had it done a year ago.

In my family, we call that balding. I'm not so sure about the chicks digging scars. They should be all over me.
Personally,I don't like scars. Reminds me too much of (usually self inflicted) pain. Guess I just have too many. Going to pick up a few more soon. Hernia procedure coming up.

Hmmm... Last thing I stabbed myself with... Screwdriver to the hand while working on a shortwave radio. I won't count the cat scratches as self inflicted.
Tennis elbow?
Scars are kinda neat though. Often times a good story goes along with it.
I have a 6 inch scar under my right jaw line. It was from where my jaw was badly broken in a car wreck and the went in to set it with some titanium hardware. When folks see it and ask about it, I tell them I was in a gang a few years ago and was in a knife fight lol.
To continue the good scar stories, I know an old farmer who has a wicked scar that runs across his right palm, and spirals around his forearm twice before ending near his elbow. Continues across his lower back, and finishes up with some minor scaring on his left palm.
When he was young (and dumb), he used to stretch barbed wire by hand rather than with a block-and-tackle or ratchet system. With heavy gloves and a work shirt on, he'd wind the wire around his arm a time or two, then loop it behind his back and hold it with his left hand. Then he'd lean back into the loop (big guy; 6', 300lb) and have his brother staple the wire to the wood post.
He got to full lean, and the wire slipped in his left hand.
If chicks really dug scars, I'd be fighting them off right now. I have so many it's not funny. Some real beauties, too

Huh. You think HE'S hairy? And yeah I gots some scars too.
My left arm nerve thing may have to ride a while longer, it really only acts up when my elbow is bent a certain way for an extended period.

I agree.
You need a better story. Here, take mine...
I've got slash mark scars up and down my left side. Most visible on my bicep when I am wearing a short sleeved shirt, but also on my side and leg. They are now over 35 years old, and just as obvious as ever. Looks a little like Zorro did a number on me.
I got them when I crashed a motorcycle into a barbed wire fenced. Racing, wearing shorts and a tee shirt. Full broad side swipe. Took over 2 hundred stitches. I do not recommend it.
Unfortunately for me, I married a woman who has no fascination with scars, so I earned no brownie points for them.
But I give you permission to use my story and embellish it as you see fit!
