There are some restore updates and pics but no restore update pics :\
Most notably he not only got a girl to go to the prom with him while in possession of this thing, he drove her there in it and won Best Ride!
Performance and range are golf cart-ish (40mph max, 45-mile range), but a lithium conversion is planned.
theres one in Dayton, at been there for about 8yrs now.
I have not seen one of those in years... cool little geek cars.
That said, I would love to do an X 1/9 on batteries

Did I mention that some of my tree-huggin', veggie burnin' buddies are among the best Merc W123 mechanics on the planet?
Think about how far the Gasoline powered car has come since 1980 ... then look at how this thing actually works ... think about where we would be if electric cars had been developed as a serious effort since than.
BTW the only way this guy could be cooler at high school is if it had flames ... better yet lightning bolts!!

They have been. Current real highway cars can do real highway speeds, and travel 3-4x farther on a single charge. If you do the math, that's much farther develpment, relatively speaking, than the gas motor.
