I was hoping the concept cars thread was going to be chock full of amazing concept cars through the ages. So here’s a thread for that and the discussion of how the reality turned out to be either true to or a betrayal of that concept and the ones we hope they’ll build.
Ft86 (gt86)
Toyota’s new street legal hypercar (they say that they’re gonna build it!).
Lc500 concept (stayed pretty true to this one)
The TRex 6x6 was the first thing that popped into my head for this thread

Buick Y-Job. Compare it to all the other cars of 1940 and it must have looked like it was from outer space:
1954 Olds F-88:
Ford Nucleon:
Cadillac V16 Phaeton and Roadster that were available in the Cadillac body catalog but none were ever ordered. Fran Roxas built one of each a couple years ago:

Those wheels look awful. Too much hotrod, not enough class.
More recent, but still worthy.
1999 Charger. 4 door, without being a 4 door. What we got wasn't even close.
KIA Stinger. Best looking car at the show. Wait...this is a KIA?
Cadillac Sixteen. Shove that "we're European, so we're better" down their throat. Standard of the world, indeed.

From what I've been told, the Jaguar E-Type is pretty much identical to the original Jaguar E1A that spawned it. Probably one of the cars that stayed most faithful to the prototype.:

I think the proposed next gen 86 looks GREAT.
We'll see what reality looks like. I can't believe they are going to give it a second generation, but I really like it.
The Dodge Razor wasn’t the prettiest thing but it would have been a rwd SRT-4, which would have been awesome.
Presenting an abstract idea about cab shape in 2001.

And the platform sharing! Imagine this as an SLA25 AMG or something.

Have lots of memories of two of those, the V12’s. Tried to do some engine development with the 90 deg a Town Car, but broke the motor the first time we tried to start it.
Then the Indigo engine was the one for the DB7 so we worked on it a few times. Missed the great trips my friend took early, but did manage to drive it on a memorable birthday.

Chrysler ME-412. That time Chrysler hinted at building a mid-engine quad-turbo V12 supercar
Chrysler Firepower: A luxury coupe built on the Viper platform with Hemi power
Dodge Demon: The Mopar Miata fighter that could have beem

That 2nd gen really looks like a MR2. I love it.
Seeing all these Chrysler concepts makes me unhappy for how the company is doing right now.
