Ok, I need to a new CD (yea, my truck still has one of those things) and I'm thinking it should be new-ish bands covering old songs. Help fill out the playlist...

  1. Seether - Careless Whisper http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zALiyJ02k_Y

  2. Shinedown - Simple man http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbN99f9esS4

  3. Social Distortion - Ring of Fire

  4. Muse - Feeling Good

  5. The Clash - I fought the law

  6. Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies - Jolene

  7. ?

If we are going to throw out the Junk (Cowboy Junk) then we certainly need Sweet Jane

Lou Reed himself described it as "the best and most authentic version I have ever heard"

Yeah, but that was an easy choice. I love Sweet Jane, but not everyone has heard Lonesome.

Anything by Apocalyptica (finish string trio + drummer covering Metallica)

Also, Johnny Cash's last album is mostly covers, and is excellent.

As far as one offs:

Im Gonna Be (500 Miles) by Down By Law
London by Anthrax
Dancing Days by Stone Temple Pilots
Behind Blue Eyes by Limp Bizkit
Holiday in Cambodia by Foo Fighters
