Wife had that one for about 5 years. Her levels are so high though  that with age it started losing pressure so they upgraded hers. THis is the one they upgraded her to: https://www.cpapsupplyusa.com/Respironics-DreamStation-Auto-CPAP-DOM-AFlex.aspx

This is the one I have now and it is much quieter and compact than my first one.

RE insurance and cost:  Medicare will pay for them.  In fact it will pay for  a new one every 5 years.  I did not know this until the one I had for 10 years started having problems.  I called my supplier and asked if they could fix it expecting to have to pay.  I was informed that I was way overdue for a new one and if I went to my doctor and got a new prescription sent to them they would take care of it.

Don't know how many of you are on Medicare or if Medicaid is the same but if you qualify you should check it out.

I have had one for 12 years now and can't sleep without it(found out the hard way when the power went out one night). I had no problems adjusting to it from the very first night although my neighbor took a month to adjust to his.  I think the adjustment depend a lot on your doctor/sleep lab  getting the settings right and the supplier getting the proper mask for you(mine had me try 6 different masks).

The you are just fat so doesnt hold water.  My 93 year old grand mother who is 100 lbs has it.  Due to it her dimentia is so bad she cant remember an hour ago.  My healthy BMI mother has apnea and refuses to do a study.  My uncle has seep apnea.   My father who used to run marathons has it, but refuses a CPAP.

Supposedly our family "just doesnt sleep well"

This all came to light after a team of doctors pieced the puzzle together and sent me for a sleep study last week. In bed at 10, they woke me up at 1 because I was so bad.  They put the CPAP on me.  They had to wake me up at 6:30. I havent slept that late in years. I had one of the best days the next day after just a few hours on the machine.

I cant wait for my followup appointment next week.  I dont want to sleep behind a darth vader mask, but I really do want to sleep and have all the benifits of that

I can't afford a sleep study or a machine, but I have found that having cats sleep on the bed with me pins me in position on my side so I can't roll onto my back, and that helps keep me from snoring. So I've got that going for me.

Literally, the first night I used my CPAP at home, I fell directly asleep and woke up 8 hours later in exactly the same position. I used to wake up hourly at a minimum, with a 2:00a bathroom break every night. I’ve never looked back and never missed a night in 3+ years.
