No kidding!

I'm stoked they finally created a parts & accessories section for motorcycles, too, though it looks like a lot of folks didn't get the memo...

I can't believe Kijiji hasn't caught on there yet. It's so much better than CL it's not funny. Kijiji makes CL look like it's from the 50's.

Kijiji huh? Hmm let's see: "Sorry, but no ads matched your search for "mr2" in your area." No MR2 parts in Cincinnati? Guess I'll check again in a year or two.

Boom.

Bottom line, it may suck, but it's where everyone is right now. Until something comes along that's compelling enough for sellers to change to it, we are stuck with it. Honestly, it beats the old system of newspaper ads and club newsletters, doesn't it?

Hrm... I'm dubious of ebayclassifieds, which is apparently kijiji here. If it ends up awesome, I'll use it, but I can't say I'm enthusiastic about moving my local classifieds type shopping into ebay's clutches.

Also, my attempt to look at "classic cars" in portland should have had 27 results, but trying to view them crashed my browser twice, though that's likely a temporary issue. Not an auspicious beginning, though

I've bought several cars and lots of parts off Kijiji, but it's going the way of Craigslist now. Search for Mazda 323 – and I get Dealers ads for BMW 3 series, Miatas, Mazda6s and endless links of stupid aftermarket parts.

Kijiji is worthless unless you are in Canada.

Kijiji is amazing in Canada. Before it, you used what was called The Bargain Finder as your provincial search for used stuffs. Kijiji completely decimated that company, which was bought by the canadian arm of AutoTrader.

I love Kijiji!

Tom_Spangler wrote: Craigslist has become increasingly frustrating and difficult to use, but I can't call it "useless" yet. The bottom line is that it's the go-to place for people selling cheap cars and stuff. Where else are you going to look for sub-$1000 beaters? Autotrader? eBay? Not likely, nobody wants to pay $60 to sell a $1000 car. So, like it or not, if you want to find cheap stuff, you have to deal with the idiots on Craigslist.

So true. Just spent a few weeks on CL looking for cars under $1500 (actually, between $400 and $1500). The biggest problem was with people that won't call you/email/text you back (depending on which method they indicate they want used) in a timely fashion. At that level, there aren't many dealers, there are a few curbstoners, and there are a ton of people that really don't have a clue. But as you indicated, it's really the only place for a large selection of ultra cheap cars.

I think Kijiji has pretty much destroyed auto trader too. I haven't had any of the problems Leslie does with Kijiji, but the stuff I'm searching for is either a little unusual, or I'm very specific with the search.

Hey Leslie, remember the Tri-ad?

Oh yeah, forgot about those. Kijiji has been great, just hope they can keep the stupid dealer ads in check.

Z.W. I agree... I can't believe Craigslist is still around. I have no idea why people in some areas still use Craigslist over Kijiji???

Craigslist Seriously sucks. It is like the internet is stuck in a mid to late 90's time warp...

It must be a regional thing..

In addition to my post above... I remember Tri-Ad. I got my first Miata from there.. My dad bought it every two weeks. He wasn't necessarily looking for anything he was just looking.. I picked it up after he was done and found a dirt cheap Miata in the middle of winter.. I got it for $4000 less than the asking price.. I also got a fully working hot tub for $100 fron Tri-Ad. Ended up selling it for $700 on Kijiji a few years later..

You can also use the search by model feature - that appears to be harder to keyword spam than the regular search. I think there's some sort of cap on what can be listed there, although I haven't tried selling a car there since that feature was implemented.

Craigslist is as awesome as ever with even more listings for me.. don't know why anyone would have trouble using the title option. Yes you meet a lot of idiots on there but that's the cost of looking for bargains. If you expect to have it delivered to you on a silver platter, expect to pay for it.

When I see wheels or other car parts listed in the cars section I flag them. I liked the older version where it was clear that I was just saying the ad was miscategorized, but now it seems like I am saying the ad is prohibited.

In reply to T.J.:

I'm assuming (hoping?) that when an ad is flagged now, the notification to the poster gives them a list of the correct causes for flagging so they can figure out which ones they're afoul of. Though for some CLers, that kind of logic seems like a big ask...
