"I'll weld up your crap (that's not a wheel, a bridge, or anything else that will obviously kill you) and charge you money" on Craiglist. A good idea or a liability nightmare?

I'd guess that "yes" should cover it.

You haven't seen me in person. I am uglier than my avatar would suggest.

Hey now, right music, right bottle of wine you never know where the night will take you...

But seriously, have you considered standing on the corner with a sign "will math for cash"

I've seen a lot of posts with handyman type stuff with mixed results. I'd say bad idea, but you never know. Might be ok if you're careful

Most of the time, I would imagine, you are going to appeal to the lowest common denominator of customer with a Craigslist ad.

I sometimes peruse the services wanted ads to get a giggle. My favorite was something along these lines: "I have a 94 Mustang with a blown motor, and want someone to swap in a 4 cam engine. I will pay $1000 after it is running perfectly, with no check engine lights."

When I still had my piece of E36 M3 HF flux core welder I paid a "mobile welder" from Craigslist to weld in some floor patches on my Mercedes. He showed up with a Miller in the back of a truck, and I helped him unload it and he rolled it into the garage and used the dryer outlet for power. I think I paid about $100 for an hour or so of work (about 6 years ago).
