Maybe I am hopelessly out of touch with the kids these days (you know, with their "rock and roll", poodle skirts and sock hops) but whats the deal with stickers placed at 45 degrees down the left side of the back glass? I keep seeing it on cars this weekend and I never noticed it before. Does it mean something or is it just a style trend?
I believe that started out as a Japanese trend.

From the import/sport comp/ F&F scene 10 years ago.
Yeah, diagonal sticker placement increase the HP boost of the sticker by 25%
But don't feel bad about being in the dark, I didn't even know about hellaflush till Is seen it lampooned here.
my stickers are in a neat line, no wonder my HP boost didn't happen!
Hey hey just what are you guys trying to say?
OK, I gotta ask, what is with people having stuffed animals hanging off the rear end of their cars? Is this another crass trend?
More Japanese trends that fail in translation.
I didnt think it meant anything but I figured I would ask. I guess I will go get some stuffed animals and place them at angles in my car

I rarely get out in public during hours when normal people are conscious but on those few occasions when I do I'm usually left in a stupor, staring at someone and asking the wife what the berkeley is going on. (I'm 90% sure, at some point, I stumbled into a time machine that whisked me into the future.) This is followed by an explanation from her and another question from me:
"So they're serious? Not forming the bill of your hat is a thing now?"
"Pulling on pants that are meant for someone two feet shorter and 40 lbs lighter than yourself is a thing now?"
"Wearing said flat brim hat on the rearmost part of your head with said flat brim pointing straight up is a thing now?"
"Dressing like you ran through Goodwill covered in 2 sided tape is a thing now?"
"Having a haggard beard is a thing now?"
"Listening to E36 M3ty music is a thing now?"
"They're doing it ironically?...Why?"
"Why is everyone saying 'I know, right' ?"
"What the berkeley do these toddlers mean when they say 'swag' ?"
I imagine a lot of fads and trends have come and gone while I'm either machining parts, fixing cars, exercising or sleeping. 3rd shift will do that to you. There are a few trends that I like, for instance hot-linking pictures or pictures with captions or cats...cats are berkeleying hilarious!
Get the berkeley off of my berkeleying lawn!!!!

I can only hope your brilliance spreads to the greater part of the population.
Theyre making their stickers match their hats

No diagonal stickers on the back glass improve handling, horizontally stacked diagonal stickers on the sides increase horsepower (see: sportbikes), horizontal lined-up stickers increase torque.

You're very kind. I think it's mostly confusion, anger and an advanced onset of Old Fartitis. I believe, much like cats and dogs, Yetis age much more quickly than humans!

On my '99 Civic Si, I have a slanted Option2 sticker over my exhaust from when that was cool and I have some random stickers slanted in the corner of the passenger side windshield from when that was cool.
Now, I don't keep up with these things. The current rear window thing is a result of the stance scene. Most of them have agreed that illest/Canibeat/Fatlace (and usually, the "shocker") decals are what should adorn a rear window at an angle.

In theatre/entertainment businss.. "Swag" is what the bands give the stage hands-- usually a cheap Tee Shirt with the band's logo-- as a way of thanks. Not sure when the term got taken over by the idiots

berkeley you old man!
And E36 M3ty music has always been a thing.
I was gonna say something about how I shop at goodwill, but then I realized you were talking about those idiots who dress like toddlers given free reign over what they get to wear that day and took it off the list.
My Miata just has track map silhouettes for Thunderhill, Infineon, and Laguna Seca. I don't know if they're on diagonal or not.
In reply to Grizz:
Agreed, but...ohhhh... As in roadie swag. Not rapper swag? I'm stating to that thats an STD, because apparently there is a specific group that gets it. Po folk like me don't.
