I'll trade you the MX6 for the GS400.
And i WILL show up. I'll be there tomorrow if i have to.
I had an '88 MX6 GT, silver with a 5 speed back around 1995. Nice car. Yours looks quite a bit faster.
It's.... not real slow, no.

Is it possible to sell a car without everyone trying to berkeley you?
I never have a problem selling a car, and it's typically something I genuinely enjoy doing.

When was the last time you sold a car?
I've sold two this month and both of them were royal pains. The economy has everybody thinking they are donald berkeleying trump, master-negotiator.
I told the first guy on my CR-V to pound sand after we had a deal because they just pissed me off. I told the first guy that wanted my Evo to kick rocks because he wanted the car "tomorrow" in spite of the funds from out-of-state cashier's check not clearing for weeks.
Terms of sale are determined by the seller, and dangit, if people try to screw with the seller and he doesn't need the money to eat, then the prospective buyers/chain yankers can have a great life as far as I'm concerned.
/rant... What's the update?
Seriously, what is the update?
By now, it must have either happened or not happened.
Dangit, now I'm going to dream about Crazy Schrödinger's Used Car Emporium...

Why not just let the ebay auction run its course? It's already at damn near $4200 with 3 days to go.
At my last update, the dude was meeting me shortly after work. I get home, call him, no answer. He calls back after he was supposed to be here and says he just got on the road about an hour ago. So instead of leaving in the morning, he left at 5:00 p.m. And never bothered to tell me. Says he and the wife are going to get the car at around 8:00 p.m.
So around 9:00 last night, I am half asleep on the couch as usual and he finally calls. Says he is stuck in traffic. Based on his location, it took him four hours to drive the first 100 miles. I say I am not waiting up. He says he was planning on getting a hotel and doing some stuff in town tomorrow anyway. So, we are to meet before work this morning.
I call this morning at 7:15. No answer. 45 minutes later, I am sitting at my desk. I haven't heard back, no idea if he is even in town. I doubt it.
I sort of don't care since the eBay auction is doing well. But, I've planning my schedule around this guy for days now. If he happens to show up with cash, then fine. But I am done trying to plan with him.
Price goes up!
Sounds like he may be operating on LA time (lower Alabama)
In reply to Giant Purple Snorklewacker:
He is also starting to seem like the kind of guy that might casually start dropping the price once he shows up. I hold all the cards. I don't get people like this.
At this point if he calls trying to tell you that he's here, i wouldn't even pick up the phone. berkeley that dude.
Coworker just says -
So you give the guy your address, leave the car in the driveway and leave him a message saying you are going to work for the day?
Uh. Yeah. I guess that is exactly what I did.
got a neighbor to call to watch the house?
I would think that your completed ebay auction could be handy for the insurance company to determine "fair market value" of your stolen Lexus.
screw that dude........I'm with the other guys about not selling it to him even if he shows up. He has wasted your time, been way too flakey, and your auction is doing well.
BTW something similar happened to me one time. I was selling my MKIV supra and had been dealing with a guy for a week with negotiations etc and we made a deal. He was from out of state and said he was on his way...as in in his vehicle and headed to TN with the money. I stayed home and waited pretty much all weekend. After that last call he stopped answering the phones, emails, etc. I have no idea what happened. The next week I put it on autotrader and it sold in one day, hassle free too. Some people just aren't worth dealing with.....
I'd be happy as hell if he took it. I bet insurance would give me at least $5K.

Meh. It's not a Honda, it'll still be there when you get home. If it was an ITR, i'd call you dumb.
I have a feeling he wouldn't even show up to steal it so you have nothing to worry about.
I think this is point at which some sellers add an addendum to their ad saying "STOP WASTING MY TIME YOU STUPID MOTHER berkeleyERS" thereby scaring off all the legitimate bidders. So, I'll refrain from doing that.
Some other random dude emailed me last night offering me "$3000 cash, right now!"

It's only bothering you because you're letting it bother you. It's a business deal, and that's all it is. Don't take it so personally.
I may be time on the ebay ad to remove the "listed locally - sell locally" portion. If you are happy with the progress of the ebay auction then tell all the screwballs to place their best number there.
If Zeno here ever shows up, I'd refuse to sell him the car.
In reply to Zomby Woof:
I don't take lowball offers personally. I find them moderately entertaining. But wasting my time, I take personally.
He's only wasting your time because you're letting him.
In reply to DoctorBlade:
That is the stupidest thing you could do. The idea is to SELL the car.
Why do these people even call trying to buy the car when they are never going to show up? That is annoying to change your schedule for some guy who never intends to show, what is he gaining but doing that to you?
Good luck hopefully the ebay buyer is not a flake.
