That's exactly my point.

I like the christian science monitor. They were founded to have no bias whatsoever and utilize independent reporters in the field. They do not reprint stories from the wire services like so many news sources are apt to do..

They are not the end all be all, but I enjoy their fresh news stories...

Read this page to learn more about them and dispel the religious myth thingy. http://www.csmonitor.com/About/The-Monitor-difference

You know the funny thing is... I like your description in the first paragraph.. I really do, however, I think one thing that irks me is that people put down those who work for large corporations. I choose to do so because it offers me a life style that I enjoy and allows my wife to stay home with my child(soon to be children). I'm the son of an independent businessman. I spent most of my childhood with bad asthma and without health care. I will not allow that to happen to my family.

Now.. I'll tell you something else. I am no lover of unions. I am a very odd liberal. I believe that eventually unions stifle those who want to preform well and protect those that are lazy. I've seen it with my own eyes too many times to ignore.

I am not your average liberal.......

Iggy, same here. I've only worked for large corporations since I graduated college.

I'd like to work for a smaller company where my drive and ambition could be better recognized, but I also like having a nice pay check, great insurance, 4 day work weeks and 3 weeks of paid vacation per year not including another 11-12 days of paid holidays.

As you said, the standard of living that my job allows me is worth the sacrifice.

I try to be a good skeptic. I try to see where they get their information. Are they drawing conclusions based on solid facts or other conclusions? Are they open to criticism or defensive of their position? Do they approach things in a logical, scientific manner? Are there other independent sources to corroborate? etc... The world is so full of misinformation, pseudo-science and outright propaganda that you do really need to be critical of absolutely everything.

Actually my point was that it's basically impossible to determine what is or is not a reputable news source.

Do you follow up with those interviewed in a story to see if they were misquoted? Look up at "gov't report" that is stated, only to find they left out the damning statistics and included the good ones?

You broke your arm once before, remember? You fell out of our tree house. Kenneth picked you up and we carried you 12 blocks to the hospital. You cried all the way. We were all friends then, remember? And now you want to end Kenneth's life because he is talking to Patty on your side of the cafeteria. Oh man, that's stupid. I know because that's where I wanted to be - on your side, with your crowd. But I messed up. See, I tried to buy my way in. But Kenneth, he's not trying to buy anybody. He's just trying to make friends being himself. Cools, Nerds, your side, my side, man it's all bullE36 M3. It's just tough enough to be yourself.

who said that anyone was any less passionate about what they do because they work for a big corporation? i don't fault anyone for what they decide on as a career, or how they go about that career, so long as they don't expect me to subsidise their living at the expense of mine because they couldn't be bothered to work hard enough.

on the flipside, Mike Rowe talks a lot about the marginalization of people who choose not to work in an office, but instead go out and do the tough jobs that are hazardous or dirty. there is no "right" way to make your career, i think sometimes the people down in the trenches think they're a better person because they do the job they do, and others think they're better than those in the trenches because they aren't. neither is correct

igg: at least we can agree on unions

The man is Icarus reincarnate, but way too smart to committ the same mistake.

But the irony is as strong as his opinions. He gets all wee-wee'd up when challenged and mocks those who disagree. Not unlike the articulate, elitist class-warrior he helped elect to office.

Oh yeah, making bombs to drop on people and the planes to deliver the bombs, killing, maiming, and further creating more jobs for everyone in the artificial limb industry, if only they'd ship to real, genuine poor people. Aren't we glad iggy has such a good job? Yeah, iggy, back up your great unifier, The One going to close Gitmo, stop the war(s), provide "free" health care, "tax those rich," and Jump the Shark.

It must be quite a business.

If Iggy personally returned $5million single handedly, just think how well the company must have done if everyone who works there did similarly!

I'll bet the union line workers would NOT like to hear him take the credit.

How was it legit? You and all the other conservative/tea baggers/constitutionalists/Beck clergy felt he jumped the shark when he got elected. You have not made a single positive remark or any resemblence of support for Obama. So why in the hell do you think any one would believe that you were doing anything other then stirring up E36 M3?

I understand flounders and trolls are only people who support Obama and/or call out your rants that are blatent regurgitations of the Fox platform.

And what did The One actually do that he said he was going to do, besides butt-berkeley us? He had all of congress, pushed through by pure voter fraud with fillabuster proof majorities, the Executive branch, and most of the Judicial branch. He could have pushed anything through. What did he do? Loot. Yeah, he looted the economy for his cronies, giving it to the bankers, GE, and the other big corporations. You know what that's called? Facism. He's a Facist. I guess that makes you one too. FACIST. Don't like Fox news? Don't read it. Not really sure what all that other E36 M3 is. I didn't vote Republican, I'm not registered Republican, I have never voted "tea party", I've never defended Beck, I am not a clergy member, and I don't watch Fox. Oh, and I can't stand Palin.

Mr. Cone Junky: You sir, are full of E36 M3, although it is quite apparent that you (mistakingly) think you understand me (and a lot of other people).

I had never seen anything like it. I did not understand it, nor did I understand the backlash by his political party, nor why it was not covered by mainstream media outlets, yet so well covered by so many others. My question was, "What's going on?".

Since you have made no attempt whatsoever to contribute a response to the original question, I think it's pretty clear who is trolling.

But, like I said, go ahead and blame me.
