If he drops over dead, as many that are tasered do, does the winner get charged with manslaughter or does he get a free pass?

Being the police, more like premeditated murder.

I'll give you some, but many? I know tons of officers who have tazed many people and have been tazed. No deaths occurred.
You could always try to use origami pigs for the little tickets.

And therein is the problem.
748 seems like many to me. Here is a list of the people murdered with tasers.

In reply to N Sperlo:
While being tazed wasn't fun......well it was for the officers I was riding with.......it was unpleasant at best. They let me play with the handheld radar gun after that...
It is left to mention, before tasers, there wasn't really an additional step between OC/CN spray and lethal force....as I think physical handling came before chemical agents...
Physical handling and lethal force aren't the same thing. There was lots of room between the spray & lethal force.
In reply to carguy123:
Yes, but how many people are alive today due to being tazed......prolly many more than were shot by police
Not saying the tazer is the magic cure for everything, but I can tell you in my locality alone, there are a number of people who AREN'T dead because of tazers. They are especially useful on people with knives, or those trying to commit "suicide by cop." Without a tazer, cops were left with the difficult choice of going "hands on" with armed subjects or shooting them. No an enviable choice. In that case, a tazer is an indispensible third option. Not saying they aren't occasionally overused or there aren't risks, just that they aren't all bad.

I'm given a my fists and a revolver. I an supposed to follow the continuum of force which means I only have the right to use what force I have to overcome what force they have.
If they are trying to kick my ass, and are bigger than me, all I have is my gun or any object I happen to pick up that isn't lethal. Yes, there is lots of room between, but we don't all have the luxury of using it.

I know plenty of cops who have tazed people. What's wrong with that? Its self defense. Those tazers have cameras on them, too.

Ever seen the show called Cops?
Misuse of power.

There was "beat the suspect with a club," which also had the same problem of occasionally turning lethal.

Yep, when I spent 2 years doing the corrections gig, our use of force officially was physical handling, then OC, then "You're berkeleyed" Unofficially was "Don't fight fair" What we would have given for tasers or even pad stun devices. Would have been far fewer serious injuries to staff and offenders alike.
car guy, you just see it all the time on TV because its usually the climax of a boring show........they never used to show shooting or beating people to death on there anyways.

Its one if those things that are hard to understand until you're in the situation. People are out to kill cops. A friend was on two separate occasions, during traffic stops, shot in the face simply because someone wanted to get away. He is thankfully alive and still working, but you never know what cards people are holding until they lay them on the table. Thats why there are plenty of good tools between your fists and a gun.
Don't trust the camera, you can't really tell what's going on in a fight.

Yeah, didn't that look less lethal or merciful on the offender in the Rodney King video? I'm not an expert, but I think he might have preferred a taser. Not saying every LEO is an angel, but most of these situations resolved by force are result of the offender's actions/unreasonableness. Drug, alcohol, emotional, or other mental impairment doesn't relieve an offender of responsibility for their actions.
Look at the other nonlethal options, and a taser might be the best option. Anyone for a beanbag fired from a 12 ga shotgun to the gonads? How about a rubber bullet from a rifle to the skull? Take an eye out with that Red Ryder BB gun, how about a frontal lobe?
