DIY Maker Shop in SE, PA

My dad will be moving to the Plymouth Meeting, PA area early next year. He will not have access to a workshop where he can tinker, work on projects, etc. Does anyone know of a maker shop/diy shop in the area?

Thats a nice but busy area. I live about 20-30 minutes up rt. 476 in Lansdale.
