Hi,

I took a piece of gravel in the windshield last night and I now have a 3/4" crack in the center of my windshield. I know there are chip / crack repair kits out there, and wanted to see if folks had opinions and recommendations.

Thanks!

I used the Permatex kit on my daughter's Focus a few years back, and it worked quite well. Worth a shot, I'd say.

I have had very good results with the latest from the FLAPS, the Permatex one, unless I'm mistaken.  Best suited for "bullseye" type impacts, they will also help prevent a "star" type impact from running.  Well worth the effort.  Don't wait.  Just follow the directions.

I'll echo what the others have said.

Used the Permatex on my Suburban. I got a result just as good then if I had paid someone to do it. It was a bullseye impact. It's almost invisible and was reparired two years ago.

I tried using one with a suction cup device a few years ago (from Permatex, I think).  As soon as I put the suction cup thing on the windshield, a crack emerged from the bullseye impact.  It was worth a shot, as the impact was in a spot where Safelite wouldn't repair it, but didn't work out for me that time.
