Not the new Dart, the old one:
Not sure if it is ugly and should be destroyed or if it is full of awesome. But it's $2800, I wonder if I could talk them down to $2013?

Full of awesome is the correct answer. Given what's under the hood and the condition, it might actually be worth 2800. Do you need a new ugly race car hauler?
That's awesome. If you don't buy it let me know. I have a buddy with a sickness for '64 Darts and he has a sister out in Pitt. It won't take much of a push.
If you do go to look at it in person, check around the tailgate for rot. Also check the cowl area. Both can be killers on them.
Scoop looks like a 6-pack mounted backwards. I'm curious as to what might be under it.
The hood isn't stock, but '63 and '64 interchange. Parts are out there. I have a '63 Convertible and a '64 2 door. Fun little cars- first of the brand new compact Darts.
See those aluminum surrounds around the headlights? They're like $200 for good ones. Each.
Those look like Mopar road wheels. There's another $400 there.
If the body is solid, that's worth everything else. These early cars like rust, and rust likes them. And the wagons are exceedingly rare. I see more '69 Hemi Cuda convertibles at car shows than I do '63/64 Dart wagons.
If it's got some sort of heart transplant and front disc swap, done correctly, those can be nice additions as well.
On a related note, y'all are crazy if you think that's an ugly Dodge.
Yo.
Also, I still like these more than new cars.
In reply to Grizz:
Now, hold on... There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Dodge 330(?) or the A/D100 pickups....
In reply to Ranger50:
Never said there was. Just pointing out that aesthetically speaking, that Dart up there is quite attractive.
In reply to EastCoastMojo: Green thing is a Lancer.
So Pinch, did you buy it?
And a bit of trivia for ECM & Grizz. The A-body Dodge Darts VIN begins with L. That L stems from the original Lancer (as shown above).
Ranger, sorry the '62 Dodge "B" body is one, if not the ugliest cars ever made. It looks like they put the designers on acid, locked them in different rooms, then jammed the designs together.
Sad thing is the original concept drawings for those cars were on the large full-size chassis. With the design stretched out they looked better.
In reply to Rob_Mopar:
Didn't know that about the VIN thing. Neat, although I think I just forgot the name of my first gf the learn that.
I'd still like a Lancer, but one of the older ones, we had a 56 in a field while I was growing up. Turns out a trans for a 315 was hard to find.
I dig it, but prefer the Valiant wagon. Oddly enough, there was a guy down the street from my work that had one in front of his house for years, and when I went to look for images of Valiant wagons, that car was one of the first ones listed!
