Need to buy a domain name. We need a website.
Other than what we want the website to be, we've got no clue what we're doing here. Where do we need to go? What should we be paying? Who should we be paying?
The website would have about 3-5 pages total--main page, about, services, and contact. Maybe something else. Assume I'll be managing it and it will live forever.
I use namecheap.com to purchase domain names, tried others over the years but didn't like them for various reasons. My websites are online stores so different than what it sounds like you need.
Is it personal or for a business?
Personal, for ease of setup, I'm with siteground hosting a WordPress distribution. I think I pay $75/year for my domain, hosting, security etc. They let you import domains if you buy one somewhere else.
WordPress, and it's themes and extensions make things pretty Damn easy. They have(are the back end for) something like 60% of all websites, and for a reason. Between ready made drag and drop themes to full customizations, they make it easy.
If you know what you want your domain to be, Buy it. Don't search for it and try to get back to it, buy it. If you just search for it, even to check availability, you will hate the price when you're ready to buy.
All that said, even though I used to maintain somewhere around 12 websites exploiting adsense, it's still a bit much when you first get things started. What works best for me was drawing everything up on paper first, then putting it into action on the site.

Godaddy & I just parted ways and I went with BlueHost.
Bluehost has the worst methodology to deal with spam email I've ever seen. I currently have over 300 pieces of spam mail sitting in my junk folder.
Godaddy had a good spam filtering system, but that was all that was good about them.
I chose not to go with anything WordPress due to all the hacking issues I'd read about it.
I use Bluehost for my personal sites. They'll work really well for what you describe here - reliable, easy to reach and affordable. I can't comment on their email services because I just redirect the mail to a Gmail account and have Big Brother do all the spam catching.
Wordpress would be the easy button and when going with a reputable and clued up host, the hacking issues should be minimized by them by making sure the Wordpress install is always up to date and put restrictions on the plugins people can install.
Personally I use hover.com just for domains - I like to keep my domain registrations and site hosts separate. I run my own VPS, but if I wasn't I'd look for a clued up Wordpress provider.
I use Ipower. Not the cheapest but great service when I need it.
Google domains is my go to.
Currently I have my domains with GoDaddy.
My hosting at this very moment is through GoDaddy, but I will be transitioning over the next few weeks to a new hosting platform. Basically I will be a web hosting reseller.
If you're interested in just web hosting, I can set you up at cost for just basic hosting. To get started I have to have so many websites on my reseller plan, so selling a slot to you at cost would lower my startup cost.
I also do web design if you need anything.
Last I looked Ipower was significantly less expensive than Godaddy.
