Officer tell his side
Luckily we have dash cam footage, because what ACTUALLY happened is completely different then the officers "side of the story".
Just goes to show cops will lie. (Especially in traffic court.)
By most accounts, I like the LEOs I know or have had dealings with. Some were even writing me a ticket. The first one was sent to prison for keeping ticket money (some of which was mine).
I got pulled over a few years ago in Ohio on a rural road.
I am very much a "engine off, vehicle in park, radio off, hands on the wheel kind" of person.
The officer came up to the passenger side of my 08 Nissan Pathfinder and motioned me to put my window down. (Doing the hand crank motion)
Loudly, I said sure, give me a second. I slowly reached accross the truck to roll the window down.
I saw the officer jump back. I kinda sat back up slowly without opening the window.
He had his gun in his hand pointed somewhere between the ground and me.
He opened the door to my truck and said "you scared the E36 M3 out of me!" I said " you scared the E36 M3 out of me too!".
Then, he said "I had no idea they made cars this new with manual windows". I said "yep they do... I tried to move slowly and deliberatly".
The officer said that he looked down for a second and looked back up to see me reaching across the truck and he didn't know why.
I almost pooped myself that day.
I did NOT get a speeding ticket that I definetly deserved.
If it had been this officer, I would probably be dead.
