Alright guys over the last 2 weeks my Blackberry Storm has been driving me crazy with constant lock ups and finally this morning all messaging capabilities on the phone just stopped working and giving me an error message. Well I'm on the road the rest of this week and am about 600 miles or so from home. Obviously I need to be able to call back home let them know whats happening and all that.
So I went into the local Verizon store to see what they could do and after about an hour of messing with the Storm we just could not get it to work properly. At this point I was asked if I wanted to replace it with another Storm I said hell no and picked up a Droid 2.
So now I'm sitting at home with a new phone that actually works much better than my Storm did even when new. Calls come across much clearer on both ends and I can receive email and texts again.
My question is what are so "must have" apps for this little beast, tips & tricks and are there any really good sites for them like crackberry for the blackberry phones?
There's a Flash light app that uses the LED light, and one that uses the screen. The screen one can also be used as a strobe if you need to signal someone. I think those are serious must haves.
Also there's a taser app. Must have.
On my Droid I have:
- K9-Mail - much better than the built in email client
- NewsRob (RSS reader that syncs with Google Reader)
- KeePassDroid so I can read all the encrypted stuff I've got on my PC's KeePass
- Kayak if you're traveling and booking flights a lot
I've got a bunch more installed but haven't tried some of them out and haven't mentioned others as I have them installed because I need them, not because I like them so much...
If you have a hobby, there's probably an app for it.
I have Pandora, Twitter, Foursquare, Moviefone, myPOD for podcasts, and Tetris.
