at 44 years old I'm late to the party.
Also....very unimpressed. Not that a 40th-anniversary automatic is all that amazing.
It just feels: Eh...
At least my 18yo son enjoys his purchase.
My F150 might be faster to 60.

If that's a 40th anniversary car, it's a C4 with an early spec LT1. Automatics usually got a much more highway friendly gear so if its fairly new your F150 probably has a horsepower and gearing advantage and may be faster in the 1/4..
Just saw the picture, nice ride!
I like those. Is '93 still one of the decent stock autox years? IIRC they can be had with a square 9.5" wide wheel config which used to be pretty good.
it probably has the standard 2.56 gear. Find a 3.07 already in its diff, its not a hard swap. Be sure its from another automatic car though.
My parents have a '94 LT1/6speed that they've owned for 20 years. It moves pretty well with the optional 3.08 "performance" gear ratio, but it's still geared insanely high. The LT1 does have tons of torque, though, so once it gets on top of the gearing it moves along pretty well. Surprisingly good mileage on the highway if you can keep your foot out of it, and insurance is relatively cheap because they typical owner is someone like my parents
What's the spread of performance in these? The manuals run 13s right? No rocket by today's standards but certainly not what I would call slow
Don't cast a negative light on the Corvette just from that. The one you drove is 30 years old. In its day it was impressive, but by today's standards not so much.
Try to find a C8, then report back on if you are impressed It's an amazing car for the money.

Or even just a c5 Z06.
I drove one of these when they were new and absolutely loved it. I got to drive a stock on again about four years ago and nothing changed. Still want one. I also really like the looks. The c6 is just not for me looks wise. It is a better car but I am a sucker for pop up headlights.

I couldn't agree more. For whatever reason, I just didn't like the look of the C6.
I'm just not a Corvette guy. I think a lot of it is the C3, which was the only one I ever saw before 1984, and they got beaten with the ugly stick every year. Plus those seats...Eek.
The C6 reminds me of Dolly Parton. Good heart, but just trying to be the most biggest ever widest assed thing in the world.
