Long story short, i got a good job in Alaska so my wife and I are moving to Anchorage. So I drove up first from Atlanta and shes coming in a couple months. 4800 miles in a week. The route I went Atlanta to Nashville to Paducah, Peoria, Cedar Rapids, Minneapolis to visit friends, crossed the border in to Canada at portal nd.
Then over through Medicine Hat, Calgary, detour to Banff/ lake Louise, then on to Edmonton, Dawson creek, Watson lake, Whitehorse, in to the border and on to Tok, AK down through Glennallen and to Anchorage.
It's an early spring in this part of the world. Regularly the day got to 40 and above in Canada. Hardly any snow here in Anchorage. The coldest weather was North Dakota at around -5 degrees. The worst weather was a snowstorm in northwestern Illinois.
I only stayed in a hotel in banff and Watson lake. Camped the rest.
Pics from along the way:
Mississippi River
Up north they put gravy on everything like we fry stuff. Ha!
Outside Minot ND

More coming

Well E36 M3, I'll drive back for free beer.
It's beautiful here and really really big. Like scary big someplaces . In the Yukon it was 180 miles between gas stations and not seeing anyone for hours. Complete silence and with some of those views it was overwhelming a little. So far I'm liking this part of the world.

There are only 38,000 people in the entire Yukon Territories!
I did my Ice Bucket Challenge in Dawson City, at 7 a.m. while standing in the Yukon River. Bloody brisk, but Ralph Gilles dared me, so what could I do?
I recently moved from Florida to Idaho. I drove my Wrangler towing a small teardrop camper. It was "only" 2600 miles. I felt like I was being punished driving that distance in the Jeep. I was so happy to be off the road haha. How'd your Wrangler do? By your pictures, I'm guessing you have a 2013-2014. They changed the seats from 2012 to 2013. My 2012 seats are terrible. My hat is off to you! Driving 4800 miles straight in a Wrangler is no small feat!
Great pics man!! Looks like a great adventure.

I have a 14 with a 6 speed. It didn't miss a beat and I was comfortable the whole way! Interesting you went to Idaho from Florida. We looked at coeur d'alene and Idaho falls but anchorage just had the job for me.
We wanted BIG mountains and lakes and outdoors all the time sort of area but not too terribly built up. So Idaho and Alaska were top two.
