Wait, you might buy one? Can we get all 500 details again on this car?

I can understand why => shaved tires, " center spec" - tuned dampers, EPS module, fr/ rr stabi bars, ECM, aggressive alignment.
Just picked mine up Friday. It will be my new daily driver. Enjoying it more with each mile I put on it. Mrs. trucke approves! Waited 4½ months for this!
Not planning to autocross it though. I have a 10 gen CTR for that. Got to get those new wheels ceramic coated so they can be easily cleaned.
Not much more to report other than waiting on a reply from Honda. And if not this one, then likely we’ll get one at some point. We love our 2014 Civic Si but, if the numbers work, perhaps it’s time to go newer.

Nice!
Let us know how you like it! And get some jackstands!!
LOL! I did not use the jackstands as I was not going under he car. Just ceramic coated the wheels and back on they went. If I pulled out the jackstands I would have had all 4 tires off and would not get them back to the same location (not that matters with 148 miles on the car/tires).

I'll pretend I don't get the sarcasm and will start giving you details! LOL!
The shifter is fantastic. Has to be the same or almost the same as the 10th gen Type R.
Don't like the Lane Departure Warning. It's annoying when changing lanes. Forces you to use your blinker even when nobody is around. Yes, I do use my blinkers a majority of the time. A big orange warning box lights up on the instrument cluster and the steering wheel tries to pull it back into the original lane. Now I'm fighting the car!
The Start/Stop is weird to get use to. It only stops when you stop/shifter in neutral/lift off clutch. It starts super fast when you push in the clutch. It also starts if you turn the steering wheel a little. It's just a bit odd. You can turn it off, but you need to do that every time you start the car.
The Bose sound system is light years ahead of the Honda system in the Type R. Sounds great!
I use AppleCarPlay and it links quickly. It's wireless, but there is no wireless charging, so for longer drives you need to plug in your phone anyway. They were so close!
This 11th gen chassis is super stiff. Handling is crisp and responsive. The Si's all season tires are the limiting factor. Since it's my DD, those will stay on. I think the new Type R will be better even if the chassis was the only change.
When I got my 2019 Type R I immediately turned off the rev match. I could never get a smooth shift with it. Then it finally dawned on me. Once you drop the shifter into the lower gear (6th to 2nd or whatever) it knows and revs accordingly within 480ms. I would always blip the throttle, but it takes me at least 2 or 3 times as long to get the blip/rev. Now after the rev match and my blip, I'm way over the right rpm and letting the clutch out is just jerky. I'm having to train myself to just not blip/rev and let the car do it. Now I have the Si to practice this everyday. This habit is hard to change. Some autocross courses require 3rd gear so picking the right time to go back to 2nd can be tricky. Now, not so much.
I'll add other comments if something worth saying pops into my head.
Love driving the Si!
Some reasons why I'd trade our 2014 Civic Si for the new one:
The new car just sits lower–like, look at the bottom of the windshield. The eighth- and ninth-gen Civics sit a little tall in the saddle. The 10th and 11th return to the lower cowl heights.
Likewise, the 10th and 11th Civics also feature traditional gauges–no more bi-level display. Again, back to being conventional.
And no more little side windows up front–again, back to being more conventional.
While I'm a fan of VTEC, I really like these torquey turbo engines. Add in the smooth shifter, and it’s a very pleasant drivetrain.
I also found the new car to be quieter than our current car, while the interior feels a tick or so more upmarket. (For example, check out the HVAC vents.)
CarPlay, yes, is awesome.
Terrific wheel and pedal placement. The seats never got uncomfortable.
And we haven’t even gotten to its track manners–video to come soon.
So, why not a **fill in the blank**? Because we’ve been Civic Si owners back to the 1986 model. My wife has daily driven the '14 since it was new. Before that, she drove a 2000 Civic Si that we also bought new. The cars just work for us while also being very reliable. Knock on wood, the only things the '14 has needed: tires, a battery, regular oil changes.
