I’m looking for a formal term to describe the edges of a simple, essentially u-shaped clamping device that grips another object, where the clamp's edges are bent toward each other to impart an increased clamping force, or, at least, distribute the clamping force across the edge of the clamp.
Below, the black, riveted metal piece clamps some woven material; it's hard to see, but the edges circled in red are bent inward:
A cross-section:
What do you call this?

A lip bend?
Probably this.
Realistically I'd call it "that bend at the edge, here" then I'd point to the drawing.

Since it continues around the radius of the clamp I would call it a "tipped edge" being that I would use the tipping wheel on a bead roller to reproduce it.
That piece is clearly stamped though
Thanks for the replies. One of these terms should work for my purpose.
