Just found out a friend and scenario paintball teammate of mine passed away yesterday. He had been fighting cancer for about 8 months now, passed away yesterday about the time we wrapped up the drags. (really makes me feel like E36 M3 being the last pass down the track) He was 28, next Saturday would have been his 29th birthday. I had invited him out to spectate but he said he wasn't feeling up to it Thursday night.
Damn, I need a drink.

Sorry for you loss, and I will tip a cold one in honor of your friend.
Instead of feeling like E36 M3 for taking the last pass on the strip at that time, look at it as putting a time up in his honor.
That probably doesn't help, but it's all I can offer.
I found out a few weeks ago that the guy who was my best friend in our teens had skin cancer and was not doing well. He died before I could go see him.
Yep, last drag run to celebrate a good friend.

I hear you loud and clear.
Friend of mine just passed away from a stroke. It really hits home when its a friend about the same age (or less).
That said, I took the Mazdaspeed6 for one last blast today before winter sets in.
Its the little things that make me feel better when E36 M3 like this happens.

Turns out he had a massive stroke. Full blockage of the carotid artery.
The doctors do not expect any recovery. The word "vegetable" was used. They are not putting him in physical therapy.
He is an associate pastor, and lives in a parsonage. His wife doesn't work, and is afraid she and the kids may not be able to stay in the house. True love story. Very dear people.
I'm pretty upset.
My apologies, Gene. Not my intent to thread jack.
Like you said, enjoy them while you can. Time is very, very precious.

A coworker had a massive heart attack over the weekend. He is alive in an ICU.
I have to get a new job before this place kills me prematurely too.
Words I've been living by since I was 20, man. Don't waste any opportunity to live life.
