We bought a house at the end of Sept and right off I saw a tree in the front yard that needed to come out. Sadly, it was right next to the house and power lines so I had to have a pro do the work.

This is what is left:

Time to make cool woodsy coffee tables!

My buddy had a tree in his yard that looked healthy and it fell over in the recent storms. It was hollow as well. We were surprised it was standing at all.

Unfortunately one of the limbs fell on his wife's Cube.

we had one like that at the house i grew up in. had the pros come in and top it, then they started taking sections off, from the top down. closer they got to the ground, the less tree there was left, they cut into a huge cavity that turned out to be full of flying cockroaches. as the saw went through roaches came out instead of sawdust, it was like something out of a horror movie.

on the other hand we didn't have much of a bug problem after that.

That bark is kind of like the paint holding together a car from the rust belt. DON'T PICK AT IT! Its structural.
