Central NH here, got about 8-10" of nice fluffy, easy cleanup stuff. Kids were sad that it wasn't "snowman snow", but I was happy, as the plow/shoveler in the family, haha.
The only time that I hate the snow is A) when we get clobbered with 40" of it in a single storm (happened last March), or B) when it's during the holidays, where the driveway needs to be pristine due to hosting and such. Otherwise, we have wood heat, a standby whole home generator, and a bunch of property to watch it come down on.
Ended up with 10" or so. Kept up the tradition of cooking dinner on the out door grill during the first snow of the season.

Not during the storm, but sirloin tips in the grill tonight, after shoveling around the grill.

I am just north of Portsmouth.
In 6 years I will be in TN.
I was south of Portsmouth on the Massachusetts side. It seems like you're following me. I'm in Tennessee now.
Snowing now. Raining and warm tomorrow. Officially 9" in my town Sunday. After tomorrow the area should be a a E36 M3 show.
JA wish I was there right now

Raining cats and dogs in RI. Predicting 2-4" of rain overnight and major flooding. Gotta love New England. I do. We're prepared for the worst. Losing power is probably the worst scenario. Our prep: we go to a hotel!
We are scheduled for fifty degrees in Maine tomorrow. I need more snow to slide the mustang!

I can't add to my previous post because it timed out. But I woulda said, as we always say here: imagine if this rain was really snow?
4th big storm of the year today. All of them have had serious winds, today is 50mph+. Fortunately only one in the middle storm had snow.
First one blew over my 60gal recycle bin that had not been empty in over a month so it was full...cans EVERYWHERE. Last night I got up at 0330 and lashed the bin to a railing as I heard the wind start to really blow.
The seacoast flooding is real. The 3rd storm was many inches of rain and deleted 9" of snow since it was 50* out. Add to all that water draining to the seacoast and the storm surge beaches got berkeleyed.

I'm on the second day of pumping my basement. I expect to be doing it for another 2-3 days. The ground is saturated. I haven't had to do this since 2010. After this I hope it's another 14 years or more until the next time.
I just discovered a bunch of new water in a basement area I don't go into much. Not sure if it's from Tuesday night's flooding rain, or last night's...

Abort mission to the Volunteer State. We had six inches of snow today, as of 3 p.m. and it's still falling. Temps dropping to below zero middle of this week. They say the South is warmer. It's a lie! And Soylent Green is people!!! Sorry, got carried away.
Anyway, yes, we got a rare snow storm here. In the 10-plus years I've been here, I've never seen this much snow in my part of Tennessee. I'm getting flashbacks of my time in Mass. and in the Snow Belt of New York. More of the white stuff coming later this week.
Positive note. The dogs like it. Well, my one dog. It added about 80 years to my other.

In reply to J.A. Ackley :
Yup. Dogs love snow.
(I'm still pumping water out of our basement ).
In reply to Gary :
Ugh. There's no silver lining to that kind of thing. Why can't we ever get just enough water in the right places? I hope the end is in sight for the last of the water.
In reply to J.A. Ackley :
I actually plan on taking a plow down there when I move. I imagine that a Yankee redneck helping clear Police and Emergency Services lots would be a kind thing to do when the area gets "stomped" by a mere 6" of snow.
Yes. It sucks. I can't wait to leave.

Not a bad idea. They don't have many snow plows in action, but they have some. It looks like we got around 8 inches here. The typical reaction here is to let it melt and then get on with business. The problem is when temps drop below freezing, it doesn't really melt ... or if it does, it turns into ice.

TMI!
I was in Mt. Snow, VT this weekend, we left Sunday morning just before snow squalls rolled through! Rt 279 was 20 mph at times with almost no visibility, got to Bennington and BAM, blue skies and wet pavement. Our sin & family was to leave an hour behind us but ended up staying overnight, Ian had to work so conducted interviews on the road while wifey drove.
Yeah, I been to New England.
