Back when this song came out I thought this was kinda cool.   I think it's in the lyrics?

Here are my two plates.  Not obvious, especially the one on the Golf R...

Perhaps a play on "fahrvergnugen"? Or you are into "The Nuge"

Yes, playing on fahrvergnugen.  But you need to be of a certain age and a VW fan to remember that ad campaign

Mine's pretty obvious. "SLOW CAT" because, well, it's not fast. But it is a cat.

If I get a Thunderbird again someday, I'm going with "SLO BIRD" or "SLOW BRD"

Daughter had one on an RX8 that said RGTWD.

Meaning Right Wheel Drive. As in rear wheel drive. Before the RX8 she was a Honda girl liking FWD. Then she started autocrossing and drifting.

But yeah, sometimes have trouble deciphering what vanity plates mean.

If I ever get a vanity tag, it will be "RLMCOY". I think most would get it, I'll let you all decide.

That would go on my AC Cobra.

I have fun trying to figure them out. A lot of people around here seem to just go with a form/mix of there names. I might do the wagon with stck ish in the spring when they are due. My friend had So Stock on his cavalier.

my former boss now has 2in lyf on his lifted Cummins because he liked my 2 inch life sticker on my f250 so much

Years ago on the highway, came up on a Nissan Z in the right lane with the plate "3M TA3".  I wondered the meaning.  Pulled over into the left lane to pass, noticed a older lady driving.  Once passed, I moved back into the right lane.  Upon checking the rear view mirror, the plate now read (reverse image) "EAT ME".  Not sure if that was intentional or not....

Half the time I have no idea what the people are trying to say.

Even the ones I understand don’t make sense. I recently saw a Civic Si with the plate “wrx brb.” Does that mean they used to own a WRX? Do they think a Civic Si is somehow faster than a WRX?

When they first came out here a friend of a friend got REKNAW, maybe a word not commonly used in the US but google is your friend smiley After some time the authorities decided they didn't like it so tried to take it back but discovered that while they could decline for naughtiness they couldn't take one back that had already been issued. After a 10 year legal battle they changed the law and he lost his plate laugh

It's Earl's Pearl.

Trying to figure out what others are thinking is a great way to make yourself crazy. So, unless somebody can ask the guy directly and find out, that's good enough for me.

Except that would be ERL, not ELR.

Eiljer's Pearl, then.

My point is that it's easier to make it harder than it needs to be. Names can have weird spellings and juke your brain out.

The WRX is in the shop for head gaskets, it'll be fixed soon and then he can park the Civic until the bottom end lets go on the WRX laugh
