A friend gave me a CD copy of a Sleigh Bells CD. I had mixed feelings about it. I REALLY wanted to like it, rocking guitars backed up by cute girl voices, but some of it just felt too "busy". On the whole I still play it sometimes.

I've really gotten into downtempo electronica lately. I always knew it as "house music", the type of thing you expect to hear when you walk into a surf/bike (removed skate cuz those guys like punk) shop. Lively enough to keep you awake, but chill enough to play alongside Jack Johnson or Ben Harper.

Currently crushing my skull with some Bachelors of Science.

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I've been listening to a lot of trap and trap-influenced EDM lately.

While I loved Discovery, it's kind of funny to read Gameboy's comment. Whether or not it's your style, Random Access Memories is a widely praised album that absolutely swept the Grammies this year. Calling Daft Punk a "one album wonder" is pretty silly.

I heard of this band, The Beatles, they were pretty much one album wonders, too. Queen? Ugh, wish they had more than one good song. hehehe

Damn, there's a lot of you who seem to like music without instruments. About a year ago, I tried to have my son explain what a dub-step was. I thought it was a way to walk. He then went on to tell me about house and who knows what else. I tend to like music made by people picking, plucking, strumming, hitting, or blowing things, not some dude with a mouse head playing a file he created and stored on his computer. I did like reading some of the names of the 'artists' though - they are entertaining to me even if their music is not to my liking. The last album I bought was Willie Watson's Folk Singer which is just a dude with his guitar or banjo and a harmonica every once in a while. The world would sure be a boring place if we all liked the same things though, so dub-step on!
