I'm in a fantasy football league for the first time. I don't have the time to follow football so I'm a little lost. Two games in I'm doing well. 1 and 1, but my loss was a close one, less than 4 points and my win was very decisive (I have Tyreek Hill, so yeah).

I don't have time to learn what I'm doing, though I am trying. I also don't want to get slaughtered. I'm wondering if there is a website or something where I can enter my team and the other teams and maybe it gives advice on who to play this week and such. I know sometimes there's a really good RB, WR, or TE that can't score against this or that team because their defense just has his number.

I don't know if this makes any sense, just looking for a little leg up to help me compete with these football nerds that know to never play a certain dude on Mondays because he ran out of oatmeal the day before and his wife didn't get to the store to replenish it, meaning he'll be sluggish in the 2nd half.

There ain't no rhyme or reason. There's a bazillion pundits who pretend to know what's going to happen but nobody does.

My fantasy app has "projected" scores for each player. I'm pretty sure if you just always tried to maximize your projected score you'd do better than average.

This is exactly what I did, combined with a few Sundays at the bar occasionally looking at the tv screen. Over 5 years I won one championship, finished 2nd, 3rd twice, and 6th.

My last season I never even opened the app and had someone else draft my team and finished 3rd. Never even knew who I had.

The closest website I've found to what you're looking for is FantasyPros. They basically compile a bunch of rankings from a bunch of "experts" to come up with their overall rankings.

My brother is the editor for this site.  I understand none of it and can give no insight into it's quality, but they pay him a real salary to do something so there is that.

Now that canoeGPT has bumped this, I can add some more useless info.

  1. Yahoo sports graded my draft performance as a D-
  2. I currently have the highest total season points of any team in my league (about 10% above average and 2% above the next beat team)
  3. I'm 4-3 and in 4th place of 7 teams.

These facts, I think, only support my initial position. There ain't no rhyme or reason.
