Mustang notchback with the 5.0.
I had a dream last night where I bought this EXACT car. Same year, color, and everything. I remember in the dream telling someone that the 10-hole wheels weren't bad and that I refused to put Cobra R-replicas on it.
I still have a standing promise to myself that I will own either an 86 GT in gray or red, or a 89-93 Mass Air car in Calypso Green (aka Teal).
They say opposites attract, so here is my dream 80s garage:
Mk1 CRX
Brougham Caprice LS

Forgot that one. I passed on a low mileage 1986 SI for $500 when I was looking for my 1st car. Talk about stupid.
And that one has BOX FLARES!!!!

That's how I got mine. I had a low-miles 87 Si. Bought it off a guy who had bought it for his son. Apparently the son threw a fit and he had to buy him an Eagle Talon to replace it. When I got there to pick up the CRX a wrecker was taking the Talon to the shop

I ended up doing OK. My first car was one of these:
It was even the same color. It didn't last long though.
When that broke, I replaced it with a couple of these rolling temples of 80's goodness:
Loved the digital dash in that car!
I'd like to find another one of those or a Turbo Coupe someday. I haven't seen another 87-88 XR7 since I sold mine, and that was back in 2000.

Just two of them (that I haven't seen mentioned yet):
Oooh... I'll throw in the obscure one:
Vector W8

Ooooh, absolutely. I still have the Road & Track where they tested this against the Corvette and the Cobra. I can't believe they put a 3-speed transmission in these things though; it totally hamstrung the car. I think it was an auto with a ratchet shifter too, just cleverly disguised as a "clutchless manual."

Needs a Viper V10/T56 swap

Easy, AW11.
What wheels are these? This is my favorite five-spoke shape, especially on 80's/early-mid-90's Japanese cars. That is also an amazing looking MR2.
I love the wheel's proportions on Ferraris as well.
Mine would be:
Japanese - SA22 Mazda Rx-7
European - E24 BMW M6
American - '84 Hurst Olds
It may have been a gimmick, but I love the color scheme and chrome Olds Rallye Wheels are one of my favorite wheels.

Can't believe this hasn't been picked.
I an honestly impressed with this tread. Damn near all the cars I thought of are already here- even my Celica and Capri!! Not much I can add here.
I honestly thought this generation was he best looking:
I had one for a few years and loved it despite it's lack of rack and pinion steering.
And one of these, please and thank you!
And one of these with a turrrrrrbo!
Somebody get this already? I don't think so.
Came kinda close to getting one of these when I was in high school.
I ended up with an Escort. That's a disappointment.
I love my 86 Monte but if I ever hit the lottery I'm getting one of these
Also one of these. Triumph Acclaim Avon Turbo,

I like '69 Mustangs too, but this thread is about 80s cars!
I'll add 2 cars I owned along the way and 1 I wish I did:
Colt GT Turbo
That was actually my car when new. It was a press car originally. It didn't look that good by the time I got it though. :)
1985 Mustang GT:
This was actually the car I traded in to buy the colt. IMHO it was the start of the true 5.0. It was a tire smoker. I learned to drift before drifting was cool in that car.
Now the Dream car. 930 Slant nose
Nothing capped off the wild and crazy late 80s like the slant nose. It was the king of excess and that big snail made it move too.

That's a 930S Slant Targa (gasp...rarity). A Turbo Targa is rare enough on its own, it's even more rare to see a slant nose on one.
Tough to believe these were an (end of the) 80s car.

Just took my '87 off the road due to incurable tinworm. And them there flares are the Mugen Pro bodykit, a replica of which is available at Houseman Autosports.
In reply to fast_eddie_72:
I am going to assume your statement was a joke.
If not, then
That is an 1981 Aston Martin Vantage I believe.

quoting because I came to post this. I had dreams of this car. Eventually got to ride in one, still one of the most breath taking cars ever!
Owned an AW11, supercharged!
