This is the best Roadkill episode in a while! The truck is awesome, and the thought of driving 500ish miles in a huge 454 powered vehicle using a 12 gallon fuel tank was hilarious.
I haven't watched it yet but I follow him on Instagram and followed as it happened. That thing is a BEAST.
I just watched part 1 Saturday morning, I'll have to check out part 2 tonight now that it is available. Backing that thing down the bridge has to be one of the sketchiest things I've ever seen on Roadkill or any of their related shows.
Note that it's not a Roadkill episode, it's Finnegan's own channel. I'm still trying to figure out what's going on with the headliner in that truck...has it come unglued, or is it supposed to look like that?
Considering the name of the previous owner is plastered in huge letters on the side of the box, I wonder how much flack they're going to get from viewers of the video - they didn't come off as very nice people by the time it was all said and done.

Im betting they will catch hell for it, they went the best sellers either.
I had to laugh when he guessed the gas mileage at "9." My standard bed, standard cab 350 dooley C30 gets 9 on a good day. Also had a chuckle at them hoping for overdrive. Transmission was almost surely a TH-400.
I thought it was interesting that they produced two long in cab videos with the sagging headliner brushing their heads and never once mentioned it.
And the seller came across as a complete tool. For $20,000 they should have been far more helpful.
Fun story though.
Headliner. Yeah. I once stopped driving a car for roughly seven years because of a sagging headliner...
He did mention in the beginning of the video that they were dealing with a representative of the seller and it sounds like they we’re the unhelpful ones.
Now I understand why they blurred out the guys face when they first pulled up.
Watched it last night. Good times! Yeah, the seller was an asshat. If it were me I think I would have called for a tow when the battery died and it started raining...
This is why I basically refuse to buy a vehicle out of state anymore. I've had such poor experiences in the past, getting hosed by both the shops doing the PPI's, who missed MAJOR issues, as well as sellers who were, um, less than honest about disclosing issues.
The only way I'd buy a car out of state now is that its basically brand new, or still under manufacture warranty.
A thirty year old truck with what, 40,000 miles on it, is gonna have some troubles from sitting around so much. When the cold open of the first video showed them on the side of the road, I though,"Rusty fuel tank." When it started vibrating, I thought "Separated tire."
Pretty typical issues, really.
And who only brings a sweatshirt when the forecast is rain and 30 degrees? I mean, c'mon Mike, we all love to see you suffer, but you know better than that!
I watched both episodes last night, and agree with most of the above comments... Sagging headliner, yeah I noticed it, but what bothered me 1000x more than that was Finnegan's friend and the seat belt FAIL. The guy would buckle up and then push the shoulder belt under his arm pit so it was only over his belly. Totally unsafe move. I almost stopped watching when he did the same move from the driver's seat.
Without knowing the specific agreement the seller made with Finnegan, I thought the seller actually did way more then he needed to.
Finnegan bought a uninspected old truck that he knew had been sitting. Even if the seller said it runs great once money changed hands it's Finnegan's problem. It looks like the seller spent a whole day schlepping for Finnegan and Finnegan bitches about the guy and wanted the seller to pay for a battery and whatever it took to get gas to the carb?
Obviously if the seller guaranteed that the truck was running/driving and would make the trip no problem as if it was part of the $20k purchase agreement that would be different.
If I was in that situation buying a ramp truck $500 miles from home I would of rented a car drove to the truck, loaded it in the back so I could solve my own problems and went on my merry way. Especially after arriving at the airport and the truck breaking down before you got to it.

Well holy E36 M3 that's brilliant.
He showed the ad several times and it said mint condition, tires with great tread, etc, etc. To me that means its ready to roll. I would've asked how old the tires were as part of my due diligence, etc, but some things, like battery, are expected to be good with that description.
We don't know the conversations Finnegan had with the seller before purchase. He could've asked about the tires, battery, etc and been told the truck was 100% up to date and ready to roll. If I was told that and I paid full asking price, I'd be pissed off about what happened too.
I'm surprised such a low mileage truck had rust issues in the gas tank/fuel lines tho.
I saw the seat belt thing and that's a total fail. Why bother wearing it at all at that point?
Sagging headliner? They all do that. The stock headliner is fabric glued to some sort of formed fiber material. The two separated on mine when it was about 15 years old. The aftermarket replacement that I paid 200 bucks for lasted about a year.
I'd say the fuel tank rust is probably more BECAUSE of the low mileage rather than in spite of it. Tank sits half empty, condensation accumulates. My truck is working on its third fuel tank. Rust happens.
If I recall correctly, the ad said "Michelin tires 80% tread" the tire shown in the back of the truck was a Uniroyal. Surprised the truck had a carb, thought they all went TBI by then, even on the chassis cabs.
Entertaining to watch for sure. Had to do a similar backwards coast on a tight curving on ramp myself, scary E36M3.
