Was it a pain in the ass to install?
In a word, yes.
It was a morning of climbing around in the attic to run the wiring for the cameras. The DVR is in the top of the master closet and the monitor and mouse are on the computer desk in the living room so I had to get the wiring run between them. That added a couple of hours to the project.
It wasn't horrible, but it was a bit of a PITA.
I would do it again though. It hasn't caught a burglar yet, but it did help track down a missing book (left on top of a car), and find out what happened to a dog that mysteriously disappeared (DIL picked him up). It's also saved me countless trips to the front door. Since I know who is knocking, I know which kid to holler for.
