So I've been looking and coming up empty. My google-fu is weak. I'm aware of this malady, but probably too old to correct it. I'm looking for two pieces of information. 1. I need a reasonably priced 1/20 scale racing helmet to go with the Tamiya 1/20 Type 79 I'm currently building. 1970's vintage preferred. I've found a few that come either in large groups or come with a figure. They typically cost $25-45. I'm not paying that much. I just need one. A 1/20 scale racing helmet is about the size of a nickel. The kit came with decals for Andretti's helmet . . . but no helmet. I'd like to get one for the display, but it's not worth $25+.
2. I want to display said Type 79 with the rear bodywork removed to show off the engine/exhaust. I need to see photos of a 70's vintage F1 car with bodywork removed. I assume the bodywork is placed on some sort of sawhorse/stand. I need to know what it looks like for a display I'll eventually put together for the car.
So what are you offering Kazoospec? Google fu master of the internet power up tokens!
Helmet - 1 token, helmet under $10 - 2 tokens
Photos - 70's F1 garage shots - 1 token, any F1 garage shots showing bodywork stands - 2 tokens, 70's F1 garage shots with bodywork stands - 3 tokens.
Belt levels:
5 tokens - Yellow belt
10 tokens - Green belt
15 tokens - Blue belt
20 tokens - Brown belt
25 tokens - Red belt
30 tokens - Black belt and the title of Google fu master.
Notes: After a satisfactory answer is found, further 1 token grants may be given for links/photos which add to the information sought, but only the first correct/satisfactory answer will generate multi-token grants.
IF THIS PROVES TO BE HELPFUL, FEEL FREE TO THREAD JACK TO FIND ANSWERS TO THE GREAT MYSTERIES OF THE INTERNET. ALSO, FUTURE USERS, PLEASE BE STINGY WITH YOUR AWARD OF POWER UP TOKENS. THE TITLE OF GOOGLE FU MASTER SHOULD NOT BE CONFIRRED LIGHTLY.

Somebody might have a spare helmet in their stash, as well as the photos you need.
Edit: A seller called RizzoT on Shapeways has a 1970s F1 helmet. Sorry, I can’t post the link from my iPad for some reason.
I'll just leave this here...
Awards to far: Adrian Thompson - 1 power token for awesome 70's garage shots. Still looking for the appropriate bodywork stand, although the general look of 70's F1 garages seems to be "throw it over there". Pretty huge contrast to what you see today where the garages look like an operating room.
John Welsh - sadly, those are 1/10 scale, or roughly twice the size I need. (Although, by reputation, F1 drivers do have big heads)
BenB - thanks for the links, but yikes, I'd be afraid to even show my face in those forums. They're 3d printing 1/20 scale areo parts. I'm a rank amateur by comparison.
Doc - great pics! That's the car I'm currently working on, only in the "Olympus Camera" (i.e. tobacco free) livery so I can take it to work if I want to.
You want some pics of it burning up last year in the Olympus Camera livery?

Someone has let all the smoke out.
In reply to Wally :
Yeah, I found those. Just can't bring myself to drop $30+ when I only need and will only use 1.
Update: 2 tokens to BenB. I'm still interested in other options for the helmet, but I might be able to make the last one work with some re-shaping. Looks like I could get it home for about $15.
Why not buy the whole guy?
1/20 scale drivers-BY NAME!
In reply to Appleseed :
Thanks for the link. I was able to order the one from BenB's link for $9 plus shipping, which is closer to what I'm willing to spend. "Your" site has a few helmet only options, but they're $20+. The figures are a little more than I wanted to spend and I'm sure I wouldn't end up using the actual figure. Every figure I've ever painted in the past ended up looking like a Minecraft character. 1 token awarded.
I found a 70s F1 car for challenge money, apparently Google's analytics of my usual searches are on point.

I’m guessing since you didn’t share the link that you must have bought it alteady?
