No clue, and WB, you also don't expect the packers to blow a game like that. The seahawks didn't play well enough to win that one for sure....for crying out loud, Indy didn't show up to play at all tonight and they probably could have beat Seattle today.

I'm going to go ahead and predict it, NE dominates the Seahawks in 2 weeks.

Can't argue with you, yamaha. Seattle's likely going to be in for a surprise. But then again, they've shut down offensive machines in the past in the big game.

for what it's worth that's the result I'd like to see happen … and I'm not a "fan" of either

though I am a fan of Brady and Belichick

as for the Packers, I saw a couple of things .. the interception with nearly 6 min left, the slide when the DB could easily have picked up another 10+ yds before protecting the ball … the change in the game plan… they needed to move down the field, which wasn't going to happen by handing the ball 3 straight times to Lacy … it was WAY too early in the 4th quarter to try to sit on the lead … I say blame goes to the coach

25 teams tried inside kicks this season … for a total of 56 attempts … 9 successful (before yesterday) so that was just bad luck … even if GB had recovered, if they had tried the same offensive ideas … i.e. run the clock with 3 straight running plays, they still ran the very big risk of loosing the game … no pressure on Wilson … rushing 3 (and one of them not actually rushing the passer, but acting as a "spy") wasn't going to get the job done

you know the old saying "all the prevent defense does is prevent you from winning"

they got completely away from their game plan on both sides of the ball … result = no super bowl

I didn't watch Pats-Colts (I don't get CBS), but from what I saw of the Pats-Ravens, the Pats are not all that good, so I'll counter your prediction and say Seahawks by 12.

If I were a fan of the Patsies, I would be feeling like yamaha after how badly Seattle played most of the game' I suppose Tom Brady will have to throw a fully inflated ball in the super bowl and won't get the benefit of a softer one. I suppose the Patsies won't be able to videotape the hawks signal calling and practices over the next couple weeks. I suppose the Patsies won't bet bailed out by their snow blower guy cleaning off the snow for the field goal kicker. My biggest fear for the super bowl is the officials. I dread another 2005 super bowl where the officials gave the game to the 'stealers' with bad call after bad call. That could happen again to the hawks. If the Patsies just out and out beat them, then so be it.

Jealous much?? The snow blower play was 1985 man. Get over it already.

The Ravens have had NE's number defensively for awhile now, kinda like how NE has had Indys number offensively for awhile now too. I still hate the pats, and will probably treat the game in 2 weeks like it doesn't exist.....

For the second year in a row, the NFC Championship game was a down to the wire thriller. Only this year it stunk for the first 50 minutes of game time.

I don't understand, there seems to be a bunch of Hawk haters out there. Is it all because of Sherman? Angry Doug? The Fail Mary?

They've sucked for so long I would think they would get a little bit of under dog love. Maybe they used that all up last year.

Opening Line in Vegas was that this was a straight Pick 'Em game. We'll see how that evolves. Then again, last year the odds makers we off by a wee bit.

Their draft picks should go to the other team involved.....we could use some new defensive linemen.

Actually, the hype and arrogance are why most hate them. They're extremely lucky, and that's about it. I preferred Seattle when Hasselbeck & Alexander played.

You're jealous of their success! It shows with your post. I mean bringing up stuff that is ancient history is reaching if you ask me. The Pats sucked for 40+ years, and have had a nice run here for 15 or so, and you would think they have been awesome for 50+ years.

I agree they were busted for cheating, but you can't tell me that other teams didn't do the same thing for years. I know there were others as they said the practice would no longer be accepted. The Patriots continued, and got caught. It was sour grapes from Eric Mangini.

It is a black eye on the teams history, but it has little to do with their record every single year since. The Pats can print up the AFC East champion hats and tees at the beginning of each season. That may change real soon with the age of Brady, and a good coach in Buffalo, but as a long suffering Pats fan I am living a dream here.

No matter how much jealousy there is out there I will never forget the days when this team was worse than a joke, and the games weren't even on TV. This has been one great run, no matter the controversy.

Go Pats!!!!

No they are not being investigated. They were busted for it in the past. It was ruled on, fines were paid, and draft picks taken away.

FYI, this is a designated smack talk thread. I only brought up the snowplow because I thought it was hilarious at the time. It is even funny that the actual snowplow is enshrined in some sort of monument/exhibit at the stadium. I really can root against your team and also not be jealous of their recent successes. I'm not even sure how I could be jealous of any football team. I haven't actually played football since sometime in the '80's.

My only thought from this weekend: The overtime rules in the NFL are really stupid. It is basically a coin-toss who will win the game. Let each team start with the ball from the (insert yard line here).

Sudden death makes sense in soccer and hockey; a timed period makes sense in basketball. Football is more like an inning in baseball. For the most part, only one team can score at a time. That rule really needs to be fixed to be fair.

It used to be a set time limit IIRC, and its only sudden death currently if one team scores a TD. Field goals allow the opposing team to tie/win.

Does a deflated football weigh more or less than a properly inflated one ?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Of course they weigh less! Lets say the football is supposed to have 32 pounds of air in it but you deflate it to only 16 pounds, it weighs half as much. Its just like a car tire.

from 2000 to 2007 (a quick google only gave me these yrs) only 37 times out of the 124 OT games has the team receiving first won the game without the other team having a chance… <30%

it's still a set time … except in the playoffs ..where there HAS to be a winner … regular season? ties are possible … there was one this yr
