Currently in day 9. It's well past the point where the show was at its peak, but even so, it's still one of the best things on tv. If the last10 season or so have gotten a bad rap, it's only in relation to the season 4-12 glory years.

Totally agree. I haven't watched the Simpsons in years and I'm regretting it now. The mid-late 90s was the golden age. If been watching at least 3-4 hours of it a day for the past week, it worked out well since SWMBO is out of town.

From the beginning to 2002 I don't think I missed a episode, this marathon made me realize what I was doing most of my life on Sunday.

I missed the earliest seasons but started watching the marathon around season 4. It makes me feel old

I recall seeing the shorts that aired on the Tracy Ullman show. Watched it very frequently through most of the 90's. Haven't seen an episode in around a decade. I should go watch some now.

I've been watching the marathon here and there since earlier this week. I forgot how much I loved this show.

They announced the other day that FXX will be airing 24 hours of The Simpsons weekly, and indefinitely, due to the popularity of the marathon.

Hell I remember in 5th grade in 89, to have a Simpsons T-shirt was to be a minor celebrity.

I got nothing done in the garage a few days ago. Why?

FXX has been the default channel in the house since the marathon started last week. We are rather fanatical Simpsons fans around the Spangler house.

I'll mace you good! Still my favorite homer quote. Though he's actually swinging a morning star at Bart when he says it- maces were fixed, he had a ball and chain. I also use I am so smart! SMRT! All the time.

Same here. Our school also sent home letters to parents warning them not to let kids watch the show.

Seriously? It may not be the best show for kids but I'll make that call thanks school board.

I've been defaulting to FXX all week, but I don't think of it often enough

The first 2 1/2 seasons were pretty tame. I was in 8th grade by the third. That's when things got real good.

Maybe I imagined this, but does anyone remember in the first season were Bart and the kids go to "war" against Nelson? (Bart the General) I remember seeing a special message after the episode ended were Bart has a PSA and says that "war isn't cool, man." Or something like that. This was right around the first Gulf war.

If you wore a "Im Bart Simpson, who the hell are you?" Shirt it would get you a trip to the principal's office and you would have to wear it inside out the rest of the day.

I think a lot of people don't remember how controversial and edgy the show was in it's early days. Times have changed a lot since then.
