Newegg has the following combo up for $650 after rebate, any opinions on it? It will be a major upgrade from my current computer that was rescued from a dumpster and force fed a Radeon 7770 HD. I do game a bit, mostly World of Tanks, Armored Warfare, some alphas and whatever was on sale on steam.

Looks good, is there a question?

Side note, I have been looking too but can't justify it just yet as my rig still works OK.

Just wondering how good of a deal it is. I was looking for some really big discounts for Black Friday.

My kid wants a gaming rig too. Is it this one?

Yes, that's the one. I'll probably stick another 8 gigs of RAM in there when I get the rebate back.

I have an old copy and license of windows 7 laying around from my linux computer on my toolbox so the plan is to install 7 and get a windows 10 upgrade.

Seems like it should run most stuff in 1080p decently. Really, the main way you could improve on that for gaming now is in getting a higher-end video card setup.

If you had to run databases or websites or 3D rendering, that would be a horse of a different color.

It's a decent build. Nothing special about it.

I hate toshiba drives. Very high failure rate.

The video card and the processor are the best parts there.

Street cost break down:

Processor $200

Video card $200

Mother Board $110

Memory $50

Toshiba $50

SanDisk $80

PS $75

Case $35

I've been tempted many times to pull the trigger on a Haswell Extreme 6-core setup, but my needs are different than the average gamer. I need as much CPU and RAM as I can afford, and 3 or more display support. However, I don't really need to have good gaming performance.
