Yes, that's pretty much the whole movie.
I believe they were trying to SMASH the record for the most cars destroyed in a single movie and in the process they guaranteed that BMW would have a profitable year.
They pretty much wiped out the whole town of Sofia, Bulgaria.
And it's totally believable because the Mustang is armored so it could happen that way.
The first is kinda chaotic and the best driving scenes are towards the end.
My local newspaper review of it said the story was meh and the girl hopelessly miscast. I always am hopeful a good car chase movie will come out, and am always disappointed. Guess I'll wait for it on Netflix.

It actually wasn't all that bad. Sure the story was weak, but the car scenes kept you biting your nails.
It's all action and no story.
Selena Gomez was the girl and I thought she looked too young to be believable in the part (I can't say more or I'd give it away), but the movie wasn't about her, it was about the car and the chase scenes.
Finally a whole movie of chase scenes. Many have said they'd watch a movie like that. You've finally gotten your wish.

Yes, they are holding his wife hostage and he has some "tasks" to perform to get her back, but there's really very little to the movie except car scenes.
My wife has decided she really liked it. She said it kept her clenched on the edge of her seat for just about all the movie.
I haven't seen it yet. The previews made it look like a E36 M3 version of Drive. I disliked Drive for lack of...driving. You say it's a 90min car chase? I could give a crap who's in it, color me interested.

It's the same argument we've had over the last however many fast and furiousers and any other "car" movie that comes out. There's the people that are all educated and whatnot that want a STORY, and there's the luddites like me that just want to see things blow up and pretty girls in skimpy outfits.
No pretty girls in skimpy outfits and Selena doesn't look anything at all like her Playboy spread.
As a matter of fact I'd have bet you money there was no way that little girl was even old enough to drive or do a spread.

Being a true car chase movie snob, here's my opinion, worth exactly what you paid for it...
I give B movies like "Gone" and "Mad Max" a pass because they are films made by people with zero experience, little money, and mostly just a desire to see a dream come alive on the screen. I can overlook a weak story, high school acting, etc if they give me a car chase with little or no CGI, good camera work and stunts that are at least halfway believable. The B movie need only appeal to the true car chase fan.
When it's a big budget, studio production I expect far more. A story that actually first exists, and secondly is plausible (the writer in me just gets offended when writing talent is dismissed). Good acting should be a given, for what they are paying for it. Good casting should be part of the equation. The whole package should be viewable by the general public as well as the car chase nut such as myself, and most people finding it exciting and entertaining.
If the remake of "Gone" had been a well funded copy of the original, with a script longer than ten pages and people in it who could actually act (and, dear God, please no Nicholas Cage) it probably would have been a hit to rival Raiders of the Lost Ark. Instead, it was Jerry Bruckheimer CGI fluff that was quickly forgotten, except for the proliferation of ugly Mustangs it spawned.
Different topic: Steve McQueen's original "Getaway" with Ali McGraw has nothing to do with the current one other than sharing a title. The story is completely different. It was a movie with a decent script, but is sadly so weirdly made by Sam Peckinpah (a drunkard) it comes across as absurd and cartoonish in it's depiction of violence.

ALL OF THIS. I don't need plot. I don't need budget. I need real action. The overuse of "rollover ramps" was bad enough in the practical effects era, but once you add excessive CGI, I just don't want to watch.
from what I heard this movie was done with zero CGI.

Which makes me wonder. I am pretty sure most everyone here would say that the chase scene in Bullet is likely one of the best every shot. Does "hollywood" not have the same opinion? I tend to think not, since I don't think I have every scene a chase scene shot like that again (it's certainly not used as a standard to emulate).
Do "average" movie watchers consider the Bullet scenes good? or is it just "car people"? Clearly the movie makers don't.
