Getting wisdom teeth cut out

I got all four out all at once when I was in high school. Sucked for about 3-4 days, back to normal in a week. Just do it all at once and be done.

I paid money so I didn't have to be there. "Wake me when it's over."

Top ones were a nonevent, but the one on the bottom that a Navy Dr. pulled out in pieces was almost 4 hrs in the chair.

just do it once and be prepared to only be wiling to eat yogurt and popsicles for a few days.

Broth-soaked bread without the crust for me, it was.

You may be lucky - I had all mine out at one time and had very little pain afterwards. However, the last thing I remembered before they put me out was a nurse strapping me down to the chair... As I passed out I was thinking, "this is gonna hurt", but they did a great job.

I was booked in to get four out and I got up and left after he had done two. berkeleying butcher had no idea what he was doing. Nearly punched him in the wisdom tooth on the way out. I still have big craters in the back of my mouth that get infected. Funny thing is, thirty years later I still have the other two and they have never been a problem.

My recommendation is to go to a dental surgeon and don't let your local cavity filler touch them.

This, plus opt for getting knocked out for the procedure. I sat down in the chair, they put the if in. Last thing I remebered was counting backwards from 10 (made it to 6) then I woke up all dazed with a mouthful of gauze. A week of eating jello, ice cream and soup I was back to normal.

From reading stories like that I'm damn thankful I had mine done how my mom set it up lol.

I had two removed, the doc says they nearly fell out by themselves. Good. Only advice I can give for all 4 is what another poster mentioned: if you do them all at once you are messed up for 3-4 days once only, then things get back to normal pretty quick instead of having to go through it twice.

War story: several years ago a buddy had his done and for insurance reasons had to go in the hospital overnight. Whatever. Anyway, they ran out of room in the general population area so he woke up in the pediatric ward. We gave him HELL about that for years.

Same here. They left the top because they were pointed straight down, the bottom's were at crazy angles. Hours of drilling and breaking into pieces, at one point I hear "huh, never seen a nerve there before".

I looked like a chipmunk with swollen and bruised cheeks for days. Would you believe I tried to eat a plain hamburger that evening because I couldn't find soup on base?

same here... when I woke up I wondered when they would be starting... then I realized it wasn't the black rubber block in my mouth anymore but gauze... had all 4 out... few years later a dentist found another... doh... I don't think I could do it any other way though

Had one that was very sore so I went to the dentist. He said it was infected and the other 3 had the beginnings of some cavities. Sent me to a specialist to get the bad one removed. Specialist put me under and removed the tooth, but my mouth was swollen and sore for 3 days afterward.

Waited 6 months and went back to the dentist to get the others out. One hour with just the usual novocaine and they were out(even though he had to cut one in 4 pieces). No problems with soreness or swelling at all!

I had all four out the same time, the procedure itself wasn't too bad, not even when the dentist tried to yank one out that turned out to have splayed roots and needed to be cut in half for removal. The first day after sucked, try not to sneeze soon after or you'll reopen the wounds and spray blood everywhere.
