When I'm bored at work, I'm very happy to have these newspapers sitting around. Since I work in the security/law enforcement field, and were in the ghetto, we are sure to keep up on our ghetto newspapers.

How else are we supposed to knows that Dizzy Tizzy got life in prizzy? Or that Freaky sex texting is terrifying the area. Get this. A bump on a noggin kills a man. There's even some "Slicing' & Dicin' Up North!"

Anyone else get these newspapers? If you're a stickler for proper English in publication or accuracy, be weary.

Also, for anyone who was more interested in Dizzy Tizzy and her crimes, she ran her husbands head over with her Buick.

Having grown up in the ghetto, how is it that I have no idea what you are talking about? Please enlighten me. I now know what my life is missing (all this time I thought it was sex).

Taken from the "Evening Whirl" out of North Saint Louis:

Dizzy Tizzy Gets Life In Prizzy Hyde Park (right down the street from where I am now.) - Hot diggity doe! "I'm fixin' to run the shiny happy person over," and enraged Tizzy Dickerson screamed as she got behind the wheel of her Buick in the parking lot of a bar on Jan. 12, 2010. Dickerson, 32, proceed to do just that and consequently was slapped with a sentence of life in prison without parole last week. Dickerson of St. Louis, punched it and pancaked Lamont Collins after a fight at Marsha's Ltd. Bar & Grill (3501 Kossuth). Apparently Dickerson thought Collins had not only stolen money from her, but insulted her as well. Collins 36, of North County, was killed when his head was crushed under a tire! Dickerson had been found guilty of first-degree murder and armed criminal action after a trial last month in St. Louis Circuit Court. She was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Phillip Heagney. Dickerson had tearfully testified that it was an accident, but no one was buying her sob story.

I typed that at around 100 wpm, so I may have made some mistakes, but this magazine is def full of all kinds of these things.

My only worry is that now Ill have to buy a palate of these and ship them to the GRM crowd.

I've heard of the Evening Whirl, but I think it's editorial style is somewhat unique to St. Louis. Minneapolis has a number of neighborhood newspapers, even in the less affluent parts of town, but they're all pretty standard newspapers.

The Whirl is available online: http://www.thewhirlonline.com/

I looked it up about a year ago and the site was not as informative as it is now. It was basically used to sell subscriptions.

Thanks for updating me.

I bet that paper has more journalistic honesty than 99.6% of all TV newsrooms.

We have one here called The Slammer. Crime reports, wanted listings, and lots of mug shots. Interesting reading, once. You don't have to make up stuff around here. Reality is crazy enough.

One of our morning radio shows has a segment called "headline hoosh." They pick a hooser story from around the US and someone guesses what state it happened in. Its always one of four states. Florida, Ohio, California, or ... crap.

Now that I think about it, I've noticed a tabloid at the local convenience stores called Just Busted! It's basically full of mug shots for all the people who've been arrested in the last week in the area. I think it's a national thing, with different editions for each locale.

Those "Final Call"s have a lot of info we can't see. I generally have to get my copy second hand from a subway station bathroom. It may not be the most sanitary way to get news, but when the revolution starts, I'll know.

Its a North Side thing. The compound I secure is likely not much smaller than Wash U itself, but it is not common to have a little gang warfare go on around it. Recently some of our guards pulled some gunmen out of a car. Its nice to know what goes on around here. If you stumbled into a Phillips 66 on a random night when there were still some left, you'd likely see it.
