I was watching BBC World News on friday and they had this almost outrageous story. In Germany, doctors transplanted two arms onto a man (a farmer) who had lost both of his own arms 6 years ago. The BAD news? Well, in the story, the doctors said they wouldn't know for almost 2 YEARS whether the man would gain any use from his new arms....in other words, the arms might never be functional.

My grandfather at 100 years old said he had an "appendage" that didn’t work.
