Ditto the stay away from people so you don't get exposed plus Cold Eze, liquids, vitamins to make sure you are at your most resistant, plus the hot food to get the snot flowing and out of your body. An expectorant also helps.

I'm hoping I'm not infected just by responding to this thread. They do call those things computer viruses for a reason.

Since the kids got old enough to move out our cold or other sickness quotient has dropped considerably.

Yeah I think I contracted this when I visited my brother and his four kiddos.

My fever broke no problem and hasn't returned. Now this sickness is all in my head. Heavy heavy congestion and a side order of aches. Sticking to liquids I can see through, healthy foods and lots of Echinacea tea.

Will be finding something despicably hot to eat for lunch.

Oh yeah I am actually pulling a double shift the next two days thanks to someone in my office catching the crud and now I am actually starting to feel lousy myself. If I don't come to work NOTHING gets done. I came in today (yesterday was my day off) and there was a stack of crap for me to go through because whoever was here yesterday doesn't even know how to process a payment.

I worked from home yesterday to make sure things didn't get bunged up. I have a new boss and he still isn't up to speed so I have to make sure things are laid out for him.

200ml is usually enough for me, but I'm a real lightweight. 750 would have me feeling a lot worse...

Sleep.

To make this possible I apply Dayquill/Nyquill as necessary, and Mucinex when the going gets snotty.

And recommendations of hydration are as inane as "news reports" in July advising light colored clothes, water and staying in air conditioned spaces" for berkeley's sake. You're an adult who's potty trained and possibly even employable. You know to drink water.

Fighting something myself. I can't ever remember...what does it mean once you start coughing up green mucus/phlegm?

Sure. Everybody knows to drink water. Most still don't drink enough. Hence the admonition to Drink, Motherberkeleyer, Drink!

In reply to dyintorace:

Most likely the cold has moved on to infection. You can look forward for about two more weeks of it if keep up on your health. Or about a week with antibiotics if you want to make a trip to the doctors office

I've been sick since the 1st. Happy New Year to me too. I didn't even drink on New Year's Eve!

Mine started out as flu-like symptoms, but somehow magically morphed into Bronchitis. Still have a temp, but hit up the Doctor's office today. They prescribed a Z-Pack, an inhaler refill ( I have Athsma, so that's important), Mucinex, and buckets of fluids. At least Bronchitis is better than the flu.

Everyone else who is sick, I'm right there with you. Get better!

When I feel a cold coming on I like to fight it with tacos. Tacos and really spicy salsa. Muy caliente!

I don't know if it makes the cold pass any faster, but I love tacos.

You and me both. Sis-in-law the doc says it's "Viral Bronchitis" based on how quickly it went to the lungs. The fever part freakin sucks. Finally feeling a little better today, but now mama's got it, and baby was coughing/sniffling tonight.

A cold glass of NyQuil and 10 White Castles. The NyQuil puts me to sleep, and the Castles make sure you wake up.
