I did shoot a roll of Fuji 50D RVP on the same float. The shot above of my wife was on fuji, and so's this one:
Just ordered a refurbished D5300 with the new compact 18-55 VR2. Hopefully the last mirror equipped DSLR I will purchase. By the time I upgrade this camera Nikon should have a far better mirrorless camera (better than the current "1" Series) with adapter for older lenses.

Would you happen to be located in Fairbanks? That looks a lot like Joel's Place, and the bike in the picture below looks a lot like my buddy's bike, which would more than likely have a skateboard strapped onto it.
If so, you are one of the people I consider lucky enough to meet My long-time friend Stokes, one of my favorite people ever. lol

Why yes indeed that is Joel's Place! I don't think I met Stokes formally, but I'll keep an eye out next time. I'm hoping to start volunteering there regularly after summer.
It's usually from sun flare. The shape of the ghost depends on the lens used (blade shape and number for aperture, plus aperture setting). Multicoating, using a hood, and holding your hand over the sun will prevent them.
