Gonna figure out drive time for that one right now. I think I'll make a weekend of it
Sunrise this past Sunday at the Big Lynn Lodge in Little Switzerland, NC. If you want a rustic place to stay in the mountains right on the Blue Ridge Pkwy, I can recommend it. $110 a night including dinner and cooked to order breakfast. It's not fancy, but the view is amazing and the people that run it are the best.
I drove right by you this weekend, I recall seeing signs for Little Switzerland along my route. Took my son to Grandfather Mountain, then to Mt. Mitchell, then continued on BRP for a bit on my way to Waynesville.

That whole area is my favorite place in the world.

How about parents? My Dad's first drive in his coolest toy, Taraschi F Jr #BT052. Nikon S2, Nikor 50mm, Ektachrome 64, Feb. 1969
Today's image is brought to you by the Ford Museum in Detroit. I shot a pile of pictures in there today. This kind of stood out while going through them this afternoon.

One of my Dad's Monte Carlos. It ran a roller crammed big block out of a modified once they went to small blocks and had a welded rear. It was his only car so he rode a bike to work most of the time. One snowy day it was my mom's turn to car pool and the wagon wouldn't start. 5 of us squeezed in and she slid home on well worn M&Hs. A few of the other mom's were less than pleased.
