Anybody want to start up a Forza 2 series again? I'm thinking along the lines of a B-class Cobalt SS or 06 Civic Si or both?

Online play... I'm thinking 06 Civic Si vs. 05 Cobalt SS series. B Class-700.
Specs for Civic: Engine and Power -Full Race Intake -Full Race Exhaust -Street Fuel System
Platform and Handling -Race Everything...from Brakes to Weight Reduction
Tires and Rims -Sport Tire Compound-Toyo Tires -Stock Tire Size -Stock wheel size -Work Equip 03 for Rims
Body and Aero -Forza Front Bumper -Forza Rear Bumper -Forza Wing
Cobalt SS Parts Engine and Power -Full Race Intake -Sport Exhaust -Street Ignition -Sport Fuel System -Magnacharger Sport Supercharger
Platform and Handling -Full race on everything....from brakes to weight reduction
Tires and Rims -Sport Toyo Tires -Stock Tire sizes -Stock Rim Size -Work Equip 03s
Body and Aero -Forza Front Bumper -Forza Rear Bumper -Forza Wing
All of this comes out to B700.... Cobalt makes 277hp, 270torque, weighs 2242lbs, 60/40 weight distribution Honda makes 273hp, 193torque, weighs 2213, 61/39 weight
Which means I need to work some stuff out, I'm going to mess with lap times to see what I can get out of both, if similar than nothing needs to be done?
Not to potentially de-rail this thread... but what happened to the GT4 time trials?
I'm not advanced enough technologically to have Forza.
I doubt I'll be on tonight, it's my turn to go over the the g/fs. I got the red rings of death a couple weeks ago, so I went and purchased a used xbox that's already been fixed. When I get my original back from repair it's going to be stationed at the girlfriend's along with my second copy of Forza 2. She doesn't know this yet, but I'll simply give her a thing of flowers that same night to make it all ok.
Dude.... if she takes the flowers and lets you do that for about a month without complaining let me know.
I may have a proposition for you.
the last time i got on forza, it was online and tried to qualify for a race, set the whole car up (real deal setup i.e. camber, caster, air pressures) went out, lapped 10 what i though were "quick laps" of Laguna, and ended up qualifing something like 350th out of 500 or so. Ooooo ever since havent picked up a controller...

Well the people who do that and only run leaderboard cars. Something I hope they fix in Forza 3. But to play online you don't need to qualify, just find a room, pic a car, host pics a track, and you go. Hopefully yo uget a decent room though.
i built a cobalt, here it is cobalt ss
and a bonus because you like small car with the word turbo on the doors
Yup!
I did 10 test laps with those Civics/Cobalts at Sebring club. Average time for Cobalt was around 1:10.3 with a fast lap of 1:09.9. Average time for Civic was 1:11.0 with a fast time of 1:10.8.
Might have to pick a couple different cars. It' hard to make up for the torque in the Honda. I've messed around with the power, thrown in a H22 and still can only get it to about 225 torque 280hp. The K24 would be great but it's AWD...
I might just throw in Race tires and cut power down and see if that helps!
I would love to be a part of this. When is the next race?
Also it has been my experience in forza 2 that the super spec'ed time attack cars are not the best for wheel to wheel racing because of their lack of power and need for a clean line which is hard to do with all the contact that goes on during a race.
Any reason for the FWD cars?
I had fun too, but it's pretty clear to me that I need to spend more time playing Xbox again if I want to have a respectable result.
I won't take 8 months off from Forza again...I think.
Oh... crap... I was thinking "I can't join you guys, my 360 isn't networked"
But I just realized that I have a wireless router, I just need to set it up... My girlfriend is soooo going to kick me out. She can't stand listening to me play car games.
it is true with the rating system you can have fairly equal racing as long as everyone has the same index, say you were aiming for a B class then just say any car that is B class that falls in between 645 and 665. that way it will allow for minor differences in make and model.
I dunno choose those two because they can be made pretty quick in B class, pretty similar cars in the market, etc. We can choose something else like Camaro vs. Mustang, CTS-V vs. Charger SRT-8, Sprinter Trueno vs. Cadillac LMP1, RX-8 vs. S2K, etc.
STi vs Evo!
Here are the specs for two great cars:
Evo: 2004 Lancer Evolution VIII GSR (Must be this specific car).
Brakes: level 1
Suspension: level 1
Gutted interior: level 3 (max)
Tire width: stock
Tire rubber: Race compound with Toyo Race Rubber (Must be this tire)
STi: 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STi (Must be this specific car).
Brakes: level 1
Suspension: level 1
Gutted interior: level 3 (max)
Tire width: level 1 (this brings it to the SAME size as the EVO)
Tire rubber: Race compound with Toyo Race Rubber (Must be this tire)
Both cars have the same index. If you build the car and your index is not exactly A753, then you did something wrong. No other upgrades are allowed on these two cars for them to be competitive. Yes, the Evo has a 5 speed transmission and the STi has a 6 speed, but they run equal lap times on various tracks.
